I bought a few of these. 2 of which are each holding up a 5 gallon bucket of water in 2 horse stalls, no problem.The other 2 are for feed buckets. 1 of the horses likes to knock her feed bucket off hooks, etc. The fix is to use a carabiner to latch the feed bucket handle to the ring that's on top of the hook. You can still use the hook to hold the bucket. The carabiner just catches the bucket so it doesn't fall. Works great!. The hooks aren't shallow either so a horse has to really knock the bucket hard to get it to fall off hook.

I like these hooks because they are easy to get down to dump stall water but I’ve never had an issue with a horse getting it down.

Easy install, much easier to hang full bucket up on than full flat back bucket hangers. Downside is buckets can become tilted somewhat if horses play with or hit them. Does not come with screws but a package of a dozen screws was less than $2 from Walmart

Well made and heavy duty. My only caution is that it didn’t come with screws so just be prepared for that but the item itself is solid.

I actually use most of these to hook chains for gates. These work great for that. I also do have one used to hold a bucket.

I use this item both as bucket hooks and gate latches. When used as a gate latch for horses it has to be mounted on the outside surface of the post because when it is on the inside a really clever equine with wiggly lips can slide the chain up off the hook (our Shetland pony did that, but only one time).
