I like this completely mechanical anemometer pretty well. I thought when I bought it that it was good up to Beaufort 11, but that proved untrue! It's good for winds between roughly 8- 31 mph, which isn't bad. It would do okay for winds in this range, but I don't know how well it would handle Beaufort 11 winds. At first I thought the marking of 11 was showing Beaufort ability, but as it turned out that 11 was as high as it would read in meters per second! When ordering this anemometer please keep this in mind! Overall I do like this barometer, though! You just have to keep in mind that it's all plastic. Not metal!

Great little anemometer but poorly assembled with some very amateur glue. Lucky I'm a fix it all man so will epoxy it together properly. Store Ned's a little more attention to their products before shipping and some better quality control. Sorry but I have to give an honesy review not knocking the product merely the state it was sent in.

I ordered it from a lab supply catalog and the school paid more than double the price. Came with yellow hook not clasping, visible glue clumps all over top... Pretty cheaply slapped together

I ordered this for our weather class to go along with one that we already had which has lasted a long time. The very first class that we used this in, it broke when the kids handled it. Considering that I work for a non-profit with a limited budget, that it not what we are looking for.
