When it works it's great but it only worked for a couple weeks when each filter is supposed to last 6 months. Afyer a couple of weeks the filter would get clogged and not filter water and I would have to run the filter under running water for 15 to 30 seconds like the instructions say to do when you initially install it. This is supposed to be a one time thing to do before you initially install it bit I had to do it every 3 days when the filter would clog, every 2 days, then every day and now I have to do it several times a day. Definitely not worth the trouble having to do this several times a day for 6 months.

The first thing I noticed when opening the wrapper was some carbon residue on the outside of the filter. I did not normally experience that with the original filter. I soaked it in water, and most of it came off. I installed it in my filter container, and it fit perfectly. When I filled the reservoir with water, there was no air gap, and water started filtering through. I dumped the first gallon out. Thereafter, we have been drinking very clean tasting water! I do not have equipment to test the water for purity or alkalinity. All I know is the water tastes great! These are less expensive than the original version. 120 gallons should last us about two months.

I like that they are charcoal cheaper and work better than the regular Brita filters. I'm going to buy these from now on. You should too.
