This works ok, however, it does not work as I expected it to. Basically it takes Poe in, and splits it to normal Ethernet and a 12v signal.If I’m already running something like a Poe camera I don’t need the 12v. However I expected this to pass the Poe power through to the camera and give me a separate 12v output as well because I needed the 12v to power something else.I ended up have to split the 12v output to put it to the camera and the extra device I needed to power, so I was able to get working what I needed to so it did the job. I just wish it would supply both 12v and the Poe power out of it.

So I bought cameras that - I thought had POE. I bought a POE switch.Turns out my cameras did NOT have POE, lol. So I bought this device to split the POE out of the ethernet and allow me to use the barrel connector at the cameras.This worked perfectly. 100%. All of them are working, none of them have died. Even if they did die, I'd buy them again.There is ONE TINY problem with this... there's an LED light where the ethernet plugs into the POE. At night or in the dark, this little LED is pretty bright. Bright enough to get someone's attention and alert them that your camera is up there.But I am NOT complaining, just warning other people. This is a GREAT product. And I bet any product that you buy will have the LED on it as well.10/10 would buy again.

When spiders start triggering your cameras and you want to put an IR illuminator next to the camera instead of using the camera IR then these work really well to power the illuminator using PoE.

Worked great for my Tapo security cameras powered by tp-link switches. Made installing the cameras easy by just running one cable. I will update this review if I have any future issues.

I see a few posts on here where people bought this for a POE camera where they are trying to run an additional IR only camera for more night light. At first, like others I though this set up didn’t work.I got it to work but it required I did the following:At the source of the POE1. Plugged the a/c adapter for the IR light into an outlet at the source of the POE cat 6 cable.2. Plug that into the female d/c adapter.3. Plug the cat 6 from the female splitter into the source of the POE box. Plug the Cat6 cable to the camera into the female splitter.At the camera:1. Use the male d/c plug into the IR light2. Plug the cat6 from the male splitter into the camera directly. Or plug it into a switch “in” location and plug the camera into the switch “out” location.Moral of the story, you have to use both parts of the splitters provided to create 12v power into the POE cat6 even though the cat6 is already powered.Working like a charm now. Running a camera and an IR light off the same POE cat 6.

Exactly what I needed for some Amcrest 3MP WiFi bullet cameras I have outside. Instead of fighting with WiFi issues all the time (through exterior walls, long distances, etc), I ran Ethernet throughout the house, installed a POE switch, and can use these adapters to use my non-POE cameras on POE so I can keep them on Ethernet without also having to run power lines. Plug and play!

This was supposedly meant to power 90% of cameras so either I was unlucky or all 8 of my Hikvision (Various models) are not compatible.Either way, it just didnt work. I got another splitter before this from Amazon and had the same issue so I got this pair with the same issue.Obviously cameras work fine but with the splitter, the cameras would not power up with or without anything on the 12v jack.The main use for this was to run a 12v IR light from it and switch the camera IR off to stop attracting so many spiders and also light up the area more but this hope was shortlived. Sending this and the other one back along with the IR light. Real shame as the dark spot I have an issue with remains and unless I run a new Cat5 cable to a splitter, this would just not work for me.

The pair of POE extractors worked perfectly for me. Measured output was 12V and powered the remote devices perfectly, there is a yellow indicator LED that lights when connected, and it's useful to confirm that the hookup is working.
