Grandson likes the microphone, but his parents find it too hard to use. So it only gets used when the parents can help him.

Low quality, horrible sound, buttons are hard to push for a kid. Hard to tune through radio stations.

I am not exactly sure how to review this item as my grandson received it as a gift for Christmas and mom and dad had left it here. Yesterday he was over and we took it out of the package and was going to plug it in, however the power port on the machine is extremely loose and he could not use it with out getting it in a certain position and then try to hold it in that position. It just did NOT work! So next option is batteries but at this time i have none so i guess we will see!

The first one, a Christmas gift, had a problem with the output jack. The internal speaker should shut off when an audio output cable is connected, but it didn't so headphones wouldn't work with it. Exchanged it and the new one works great, just what he wanted.PROS:Good size and weight, easy to carry, colorful.Very easy to use, buttons are responsive and don't stick, display is easy to read.USBs and SD cards are easy to insert and remove.Radio has very good sound and reception.Speaker default is set to a medium level and is easily adjusted.Bluetooth connects automatically and doesn't lose the signal when carried away from source.CONS:None for us, since the exchange.

USB port was not working and customer service fixed the issue right away. Otherwise grandchild love it. They dance and sing to frozen and other favorite songs.

This unit from IQ Toys appears to be essentially the same as the higher priced . Aside from a different front panel with a different button layout, everything else appears to be identical (aside from colors). Even the LCD display and the "sing-along" lettering below the front panel are the identical. That unit had “mixed” reviews so I went in with low expectations of quality and reliability. But I really wanted a player where we could load our own songs onto and also stream via Bluetooth any songs we didn’t have. So I went with this unit since there were no big name companies that made a sing along machine that had both of these features.Functionally, the Bluetooth and micro-SD card work well. Again, these were the main sources I was looking to play. In bluetooth mode, the player's play/pause, skip/next & skip/back buttons worked in controlling the Youtube app on the connected phone, which was a nice surprise. Bluetooth range is not the greatest as I’d say I generally have to keep the phone within 8 to 10 ft. And as for the micro-SD card, note that it sticks out just under an 1/8 inch if that's a concern for you (see my pic). My little one hasn’t once tried to fiddle with the microSD card, but I could see the potential of it being a choking hazard if a young child was able to remove it (btw. it’s the standard push to eject card mechanism).As for the microphone, when we first got it, I had to put my lips right up against the mic to get decent sound output even at its highest mic volume setting. Also, one mic was slightly, but noticeably, louder than the other. But lately, after the whole player was dropped by my little one, the both mics have been noticeably louder. One last detail - the instructions report the microphone volume can be increased to a level of "20", but mine only allowed a maximum of "15". At the end of the day, these flaws regarding the mic weren’t huge issues for me because I was really looking for my little one to have a music player, as opposed to a karaoke machine. So for me, the mics were just a bonus, not a necessity.In all, for the price (as of 7/2019) and features, I’m pretty satisfied with this purchase. And I hope you found this review helpful.
