Does it's job with ease, just remember to always keep the tap lubed with cutting fluid or wd-40! I've used this to tap threads into aluminum, cast iron, and steel, works flawlessly.

I used this to clear threads for trailer hitch welded on bolt on Honda CRV. This is useful for older vehicles with exposed holes. The muffler side was a bit more gunk see pick. Worked perfectly, fast shipping. This is a top quality tool.

I bought this just in case my 10mm bolt holes were rust damaged with time. Turned out I was able to clean the bolt holes with lubricant and stiff cylinder brush. Still, I'm glad I have this in case I have any 10mm threads to redo.

Worked great for the 1 and only time I needed it to mount a tow hitch. The holes were filled with New England rust and debris... what a PITA to turn this bit by hand for an hour to clear out 4 holes... but it worked great and still looks brand new!

Well made tap--actually used it to chase bunged-up threads on a driver's seat carriage with some 3-in-1 oil for lube. Worked perfectly and was easy to extract (went slowly in both directions). I also got the Hanson 12002 T-handle tap wrench. The wrench fits this tap but it maxes out the wrench chuck. No complaints.

This tap was a life saver. I purchased a trailer hitch for my Honda CRV. Upon starting the installation, I discovered the threaded mounting holes in my CRV were rusted and appeared to be unusable. I have a cheapo tap set at home that would not start into the rusted holes. I assumed they were rusted beyond repair. Ordered this tap hoping it might work where the cheap tap couldn't, and I was able to clean out and use the 4 holes in the CRV chassis that I thought were unusable, avoiding a helicoil headache. The point is, it pays to buy quality tools. This is a quality tool.

bought some motorcycle clutch and break controls that had an untapped hole for the mirrors. The descriptions didn't tell me that. I guess you have to get mirrors that were designed to be through bolted. Well this fixed it pretty quick. The controls were aluminum so I didn't exactly push it to the limit but I would expect this manufacture to a mid grade tap. If you've never used a tap before I'd watch a few how to videos. When I was in tech school for machining a busted a good quality tap in 3/4" aluminum because I didn't break the chip. I thought, "I've done this all day long on different grade of steel I'll just cram this right through this aluminum!" and then I learn how to dig out my first tap. There's just a slight trick to it but easy to pick up.
