Overall a well made accessory. As others have mentioned it isn't the smoothest as far as rotation. Mine didn't come with instructions and it took a few tries when attaching it to realize the plastic collar will only fit in one position; the small slots on the lens that the collar tabs fit into are not equally spaced so you must place the plastic in the correct position. Then you attach the metal ring and it locks down. I applied a small amount of silicone grease I had in the tool box, just enough to lubricate but not enough to squeeze out on to the lens. That really helped.

As others have mentioned, this is a little fiddly to fit and I had to use one of the product images to help as there were no instructions supplied. However, once fitted it worked brilliantly on my mini tripod and I really liked the convenience of built in arca-Swiss quick release plate.

I was looking for a lens collar for the Canon RF 100mm Macro Lens. I got the iShoot collar but I question if it is sturdy enough to support the weight of the lens & body. I returned it and can't recommend it.

I don't understand the negative reviews of this truly excellent lens collar. The fit and finish are as good as you could ask for and the ARCA-style foot fits securely. I'm able to rotate the EOS R5 camera in either direction after a small turn of the retaining screw. The only trouble one might have is with the initial alignment of the plastic ring. There is no white line as you might expect. Instead, there is a subtle cut-out near one end of the ring that aligns with the SA centerline.I don't know how the Canon-brand mount could perform any better, so this is a great buy!

Had to watch a short video to see how this gets mounted onto the lens. Once assembled; It is possible to rotate between portrait and landscape by loosening the clamping screw "just enough"! It's a 3rd party rig so yeah! its not super smooth but as an amateur.... it will serve me well!

Yes, don't touch it, you might get a plastic cut.Well, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I got this delivered today and upon checking, the inner plastic part that touches the lens body has rough and sharp edges.I never tried to mount it as I didn't want my lens to get scratched by a cheap plastic part.I will order the Canon OEM now and this will be returned.

This comes in two parts, just like the original version from Canon for the RF 100mm macro lens. The metal part is as good as can be expected and even better than Canon's as it comes with an Arca-compatible foot. But the plastic sleeve or collar is truly awful. It is a real struggle to rotate the lens using this mount. Forget about smoothness, forget about any minor shifts in orientation. Adjusting the locking/tension knob will allow for some jerky movements. Turn the lens through 360 degrees and you end up with plastic shaving coming off the collar!iShoot, did you check-out the original from Canon? How hard is it to faithfully reproduce that plastic sleeve? It is the most critical part of this product. It must fit tightly onto the lens via the registration pins and slide smoothly in the lens mount. You almost managed the first part except that the pins are a poor fit for the notches in the lens and failed with the second requirement. If this is the best we can expect I suggest saving your money for the real thing.

I had a iShoot tripod ring mount for my Canon EF 100mm Macro, and it worked great! So when I bought the RF version of the lens, I looked to iShoot for a tripod ring. The Canon version is a ridiculous $200, the iShoot much less. The ring fits perfectly on the lens with the accompanying plastic adapter ring. However, it is very stiff and the lens does not rotate very smoothly unless you loosen the ring a lot. Since I haven't used the Canon version, I don't know if this is normal, but I think it's mostly due to Canon's questionable design of the ring to begin with.Nonetheless, it does work, and its WAY cheaper than the Canon._______________________________________________________________Update, March 15th, 2023: So after using this tripod ring instead of the official Canon version, I ended up biting the bullet and spending almost $200 on the Canon. In short, this one DOES fit and is WAY cheaper, but it is NOT nearly as smooth as the Canon. It is very sticky and requires loosening the collar way too much just to be able to rotate the lens within the ring, to the point where I almost lost everything due to the ring coming undone. The Canon version is much smoother, and it's much more secure. If you've got the RF100mm macro, and want a tripod ring, my suggestion is to bite the bullet and buy the official Canon model. Most places sell it at the $200MSRP, but I was able to find a brand new one for about $20 less, so do some searching to find the best price.
