This platter mat does a better job stopping vibrations than the old rubber mat that came with my turntable when it was new. I tried cork, felt, silicone, and foam mats, but this one beat them all.It is incredibly sticky, however. I docked one star because it's too sticky. It took some of the ink from the label of my initial test record when I peeled it off the mat. It's so sticky that you won't want to use it with dirty old thrift-store records because it'll grab/transfer dust to other records. I tried washing it and letting it air dry, but this mat is still like glue! I cut up a plastic outer sleeve to place atop the mat. Now, the mat won't stick to my records, and it's easily wiped off. Problem solved. I'm willing to trade some small amount of the vibration-absorbing super-sticky powers for peace of mind, knowing I'm not messing up my records. For the price, though, you shouldn't have to mod this thing on day one. The manufacturer already uses urethane-coated Sorbothane for other products to prevent them from being too sticky or harming other surfaces. They should coat this mat, at least the top, with something.I docked another star because of the ugly writing that's on it. It's not that bad, and it's just aesthetics, but I would prefer if this mat had a cleaner style without any branding to clutter up the look of my setup. This mat is worth it only if you really need to fix vibrations, don't mind tweaking it, and don't mind how it looks. Or, speaking of tweaks, might it work just as well on the platter's underside? I'll keep this mat, but I give it three stars.

Excellent sound isolation and dampening. Raised the height of the record to 6mm which I needed to accomodate the higher head shell (Ortofon 9000). It’s very tacky which means it sticks to the platter nicely. Also can stick to the LP which you can just deal with, rinse with cold water, or I have just applied a layer of cling film trimmed carefully around the edge. Perfect👌

Really does make a difference - the BEST isolation out of any mat I have ever tried. Since vinyl entails so much signal amplification (even more so w/ MC cartridges), sorbothane's improved isolation really lets (good) vinyl sing - or further reveals flaws of poor modern pressings, digital masters, etc.New sorbothane is sticky so I recommend rinsing the mat with water and letting it air dry before installing which prevents the excessive sticking others have experienced. Because this mat will increase the height of the platter by either 3 or 6mm ***MAKE SURE TO ADJUST TRACKING FORCE AFTER INSTALLING***. Consult your cartridge's owner's manual for the correct value. For reference, I am using a Clearaudio Talismann V2 Gold MC cartridge, which requires a tracking force of 2.80g. After installing the 6mm mat, TF increased to > 4g, which could damage the stylus and cartridge, dig into grooves, etc. so please do measure and adjust the counterweight as necessary (buy a digital tracking force scale for $10-20). Also double check TT is still level after installation. When installed correctly, this mat is worth every penny.

Well, I wanted to like it, but it turned out to be almost 2mm a bit bigger than what my audio technical's lp120 was willing to accommodate...

I added this to my uturn orbit, it isolates the vinyl from the platter, made a noticeable difference. Make sure to have it lined up before you let it touch the platter. Once it does, it's stuck.

While this mat does seem to offer a bit of sonic improvement over a standard rubber mat, it is insanely sticky. That makes it tricky to install on the platter (see the photo of the orange one in another review). But it sticks to LPs just as aggressively. They bend like crazy when you try to lift them off. This is both disconcerting and needlessly aggravating. I returned this mat the same day.
