I have been an avid snorkeler for about 50 years. I had an earlier generation of this same design mask (from 1995) that I accidentally broke in 2017. Since then, I spent several hundred dollars buying 3 other highly rated masks, and had to give up on all of them. Why? Well, it seems that 90% of the masks sold today have a .. well ... DESIGN DEFECT that you are never told about ... til you try to go snorkeling ... and they INSTANTLY FOG UP ... OK, so you think, all I have to do is to apply is a thin layer of anti-fog to the inside (commercial liquid, or in the form of the oily white/brown leafy sea plants that are found from the Adriatic to Hawaii), and I'm good to go right? WRONG. It doesn't work anymore with most masks because they are made of SILICONE rubber that adheres to the inside of the glass during the manufacturing process, causing instant FOG no matter what you do. See, what they don't tell you is that you have to BURN OFF the silicone from the inside of the glass with an OPEN FLAME. (Yeah, I know, I know. If you don't believe me, just Google it. Its actually freaking true). So you drop $200 on a mask, and THEN you have to burn the glass and scrub, repeat, etc. I actually did this. Only to find that the burning loosened up the rubber seal around the nose, and my $200 silicone rubber mask now leaked like a sieve. LOVELY. In desperation I scoured ebay for old used masks, which come with their own risks (may not seal properly, etc). FInally, after hours upon hours of searching, I found this baby. Yeah, I thought, its the same as the one I used to use, but ... made 25 years later, would it suffer from the same new mask defect described above? Well, the verdict is IN! First of all IT IS MADE OF REAL RUBBER - NOT SILICONE!!! Then the test. Entering the azure-blue, crystal clear Adriatic waters the day before yesterday, I secured a handful of the oily leafy brown/white sea plants from a nearby rock, and rubbed them all over the inside glass of this mask, then rinsed. Then I snorkeled - for over an hour. NO FOG. NONE!!!!! THANK YOU AQUILA!!! You have restored to me the joy of snorkeling that I feared I lost 2 years ago!!! I would give you 10 stars if I could!!

I bought this mask because it looked very similar to my much loved 20 year old mask. Bad choice. Mask does not seal well around the nose and mouth. The edge of the mask makes a couple of sharp angles on either side of the nose. It's possible that this mask may fit someone, but it sure doesn't fit me.

It is exactly what I was looking for in a mask and they are hard to find. I swim an average of 15 kilometers a week and I do not get any water in the mask. Thanks. Now I can swim uninterrupted. I was also born with a cleft lip and I have no problems with the way the mask seals.

I started my scuba lessons many years back and the first mask that I bought from my instructor was a purge mask. I have been used to that ever since. I found this one on line the price was excellent but was not sure of the quality, I decided to get it anyway because now my activity is limited to swimming laps in the pool. This mask has surpassed my expectation and it performs very well, the seal is sight, no leaks, the size and shape is to my liking, over all in my personal case I gave it a 5 star rating. Considering the price of some masks in sporting stores, this has been a great bargain, when tis one falls apart I am going to get another one exactly the same.
