This tumbler doubled in price since I bought it last week, but at the $49 I paid, it seems like a really good deal. It takes some time to assemble. I am almost 82, and I did it alone. Would have been easier with 2 people, but not necessary. I'm not sure how efficiently this will compost, but I am happy so far.

My husband is always the one to assemble these types of things. After reading the reviews I was nervous to try myself and I found it surprisingly simple to assemble, even for someone with basically no experience assembling such things. I love the double compartment and am very happy with this purchase!

We just put ours together today and it went together very easily. The instructions were very simplified and I had to study the pictures for a few minutes but once I read everything through it made a whole lot of sense. It took us less than an hour to put together and it’s ready to rock. It’s lightweight which is nice because we can move it around, but I’m also concerned it might blow away. We live in a very windy area. We put some weights underneath it to keep it in place for now. Once we put some scraps in it I’m sure that problem will be a non-issue.

I really like this tumbler. It's a good size for a medium family with a garden and rabbits. Construction was simple, but did take time (I think about an hour for 1 person). There are a lot of screws, so it could be rough for someone with arthritis for something to assemble. However, once it is put together it is very easy on the body to tumble. It is not too low or too high and turns easily. The division wall works great. It send like your are putting it in wing during assembly veneer there are gaps, but I think it's supposed to be that way for some reason. Air flow? Allowing worms to migrate? I don't really know, not it seems to work fine.

The tumbler is easy to use and is very sturdy for our yard. We have been composting for over 30 years and have finally decided we wanted an easier way to compost other than turning it ourselves. We find it composts much faster than our older system. However there were 56 screws to assemble was challenging for us, but it all came together.

This is a sturdy composter when fully assembled. While it holds 37 gallons, that is insufficient for a large garden, so I am purchasing a second one. As a disabled person I cannot handle a larger unit. The compost bin arrived completely unassembled. The "instructions" were nebulous small illustrations, with a few words on few of the pictures. There were more bolts than the number of holes, which is good, as many of the screws were unfinished - the nuts would not thread onto them. I was one shy of sufficient working bolts, so I had to employ aWD-40, a file, wrench and screwdriver to force the nut to fit.I began assembling this alone, but, when nearly finished, I noted the arrows. I did not comprehend from the illustrations that these must align for the unit to be correctly assembled. I had to disassemble & reassemble one end once I realized that the final (door) piect had holes which did not align with the holes for the panels. Many of the bolt holes were not completely drilled through, nor were all the holes for the prongs completely drilled through. I was able to enlarge them using a large screwdriver. It was difficult to place the center bolts and nuts, as there were ridges which obstructed the path. Also, the center panel must fit into very shallow grooves. It would be more effective if the grooves were deeper.I realized I needed assistance because my disability prevents me from working with small objects (like nuts & bolts) for extended periods. Having an assistant to hold parts together while I inserted bolts and attached nuts helped.ease the frustration in assembling this unit.Once it was together, I filled both chambers with clippings, leaves, twigs, vegetable matter and eggshells discarded from the kitchen. I wet the ingredients and gave the bin a good spin. It is sturdy and easy to use. The doors are a little rough to open and close but should become easier to move after friction wears down the edges. Some of my materials had already begun decomposing while I decided whether to purchase a composter. This should preclude the necessity of purchasing starter, as the bacteria and enzymes needed to break down the vegetation are already present in the natural compost material.Aside from the difficulties in assembly, I like the product and am ordering a second one. I plan to omit the center divider to make this a single chamber bin. The center panel is one of the obstructions to fastening the bolts. It will be easier to fill and empty the bin without the divider in place. Total assembly time after I brought on an assistant was about an hour (including disassembling one side and reassembling.)

I am still putting this together - which I found very difficult! Small screws and bolts, along with the size of the composter, made it hard to hold bolt with one hand/wrench and screw in the outside screws with my drill. I think that if the mfg. would put more of it together or make bigger panesl that would be a HUGE improvement. Also, no words on the directions, only pics, and no descriptions for the parts. I hope to have it together tonight (3rd session) and I hope it works better than it went together...the middle piece/bin separator was horrible to get it and fit flush - which I can't get mine to do so I hope it still keeps the bins separated.

I gave it 4 stars for being robust like a tank. I have not used it yet,but then, let's face it an old water barrel that is made to tumble would do the trick.... so yes, I am certain that it will work just fine. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is the assembly...what a pain in the butt. If you have arthritis in your hands or problems with dexterity don't even try to do this. The instruction are minimalistic, the holes to secure the axis are too big, the screw head nearly pulls through and I had to find a couple of stainless washers to prevent this from happening. The unit comes with ample of spare screws and I am sure down the road they will be needed...so make sure you know where they are.
