Product actually caused the MyQ Video Keypad to develop problems connecting to the rest of my system. Everything worked fine with my keypad until I started using this power cable and within weeks of starting to use this power cable, the device started exhibiting problems and I’ve now had to completely replace the keypad.I strongly advise that users avoid this product.

If you made the mistake of purchasing camera keypads for your door your garage doors IE "MY Q"This will allow you to fix the poor engineering of the keypads, before purchasing this I had to remove the keypad to charge the battery, it was a poor security camera. It was out of commission for two days for the battery to charge now with this item I can just leave it plugged in and battery stays fully charged

Didn't install yet, but I see where others described the cord being thin. Going to have to be very careful hooking this up to not damage it.

Product is perfect for the MyQ garage door opener. I installed it through the back of the base by drilling two holes and using a piece of wire to fish the cord through.

Out of a few of these that I bought I broke one but overall this is super easy to install and comes with wire guides you nail to the surface. This also allows you to keep your existing battery as a backup unlike the myq version which replaces your battery.

Works great! I was able to hard wire it directly into my garage opener and now it stays charged 24/7 I’ve had it on there for a a few months now and no issues. You have to make a small modification but any normal guy can figure it out.

My keypad battery only lasted about one month before I had to recharge. The MyQ power adaptor was twice the cost of this one. This power cord works great and keeps my keypad fully charged. Note that this cord DOES NOT charge the battery. My keypad was at 9% battery when I installed this cord, and I was under the assumption the power cord would charge the battery. So I hooked up the cord and 2 days later the battery was still @ 9%. I took battery out, fully charged it, and then reinstalled the power cord. One week later and the battery is still fully charged.

Nice solution but 20 ft cable is a bit long. I wish they offered this device with a shorter 6-10 ft cable length. You don't need the swivel mount to install. You can drill a hole in the fixed OE lower plate.Other reviewers who posted it only maintain the battery charge but doesnt increase the level are wrong. The usb based charge cable assembly does charge the battery to full 100% and then shuts off. The MyQ app doesn't show the battery charge increase. In my case, the battery was at 90% when connected and it still showed 90% after a day of being plugged in. I inserted a small USB charge meter between the USB plug and the cable during the original install. It showed a 1.2 Watt charge rate that dropped to 0 watt charge rate after a day, but MyQ app still said 90%. I unplugged the battery from the MyQVideo keypad for 60 seconds. When the battery was reconnected the battery level now displays 100%.

This kit works well and is easy to install. It requires 1/2” hole to be drilled in the door frame if you plan to hide the wire. This unit powers the keypad but does not charge the battery so charge it before you install the kit so it is available if the power fails. No modification of the keypad is required the ribbon wire will come out the side of the battery cover just fine and the lid will seal.

The cables work as a battery power source as described. I did need to create channels in backing plate for the black battery cord and the larger white section in order to prevent pinching the wires. Since I installed the camera where the old style opener was located I left about a 3/4 inch gap where wire was exposed and slipped under PVC frame of the garage. Covered the exposed wire with a small piece of trim and caulked around all edges. No wires are visible and is completely waterproof. So far it’s working perfectly and doesn’t require constant battery maintenance. The opener manufacturer should have provided a constant power automatically as some users will not always be able to recharge frequently, have children that use up the battery, or have installed for elderly people. Constant power is a much better option given the use of the built in camera.

Does the job. Had to drill a hole in the battery cover to get the cord out. Filled with some silicon.
