My used camera came without the USB cable needed to upload photos or upgrade firmware. So I bought this as a replacement for the OEM cables for my Pentax MX-1 and Ricoh GR Digital IV. I also believe this cable would work for the Ricoh GR Digital III cameras, the older models with the 1/1.7" sensor with 10-12 MB sensors. Not the Ricoh GR with the APS-C sensors. This cable will not charge the Pentax and Ricoh GR Digital camera batteries but will work fine for communicating with the computer, which is what they were designed for.

As usual every manufacturer uses a unique USB connector on a few of their devices, as is the case with my Pentax camera. This vendor used a very detailed description which was searchable on Amazon.com to identify just the cable I needed. I received it quickly and it worked well to download pictures. As luck would have it, I had a friend take a picture of myself which I posted on a dating site, using my new cable. I've been in contact with the lovely lady that responded since New Year's eve and things are going well because I got the correct cable for my camera! I cannot complain about that!
