... always work out with these! Heavy? Yep. Too heavy? That depends. If you're looking for something that you can conveniently throw around without much effort, then these are not for you. The jack stand bases are heavy. The pins are heavy. The adjustable "risers" are heavy. You want light, this ain't it. Oh, it's not that big of a deal for someone of decent strength, but they are heavier than most jack stands for cars and light trucks will need. You want durable, then this is the ticket. Even the base pads are thick. For most vehicle on the non-commercial side of things, these are probably overkill, but then again, better too strong than not strong enough, and the price, for the quality and stoutness, isn't that bad.For what it is, what it does, and what it costs: Five StarsI am the Totally Unbiased Reviewer Dude (T.U.R.D.) and that is how I see it.

I can't say enough good things about these jack stands. While a jack stand is a pretty simple device, judging from a recall by H.F., they can and do fail. The failures either occur structurally, or the often used ratchet device fails. No way this jack stand is going to fail structurally. The steel is very thick, and the welds are excellent. By not using a ratchet mechanism, but rather a simple telescoping arrangement held with a rather thick pin, they eliminate that failure mode as well. This may make the stand slightly less convenient to height adjust, but I feel it's worth the peace of mind.
