I was working on the motor looked over at the cables and they were both burning. Not sure, but I think your product needs to be a little more fireproof. I never seen a cable casing go up in flames like that before.

If you need to run full length, 2.7m comes a bit short for both front and rear derailleurs, so better order two

For most bikes this kit is all you need. Great shifting performance and fine instructions.Mine, however, had a rear mech housing running the complete length of the bike, which meant there wasn’t enough leftover j housing to do the front mech. The cables were separate, so no issues there.Next time I will be buying 2 kits just in case, or an extra housing.

See that apparent "ribbing" in the photo? It shouldn't do that. What you see is the effect of cable housing compressing under a normal load.Derailleur housing should basically never fail apart from corrosion / friction wear, i.e., small amounts of grit getting between the bare cables and the inside of the housing, or the cable eventually wearing off its own coating by normal movement. Both should take years. Instead, this set fails in a way that *should never ever happen*: with the housing deforming as the metal within changes shape. And this happened within about 6 weeks of installation. In fact, it happened twice! Just poor, buy something else.

These cables and housing are fine but the shorter one was too short to reach the front derailleur with the bar end shifter on my bike. Another 6" and I'd have made it. Kind of cheap of them I think to not include enough length to cover all shifter position possibilities.

I am very happy with the price and quality of this item.BUT - buyer beware - there are two different "Silver" colors available for this product, and they look very different.UCK326 Carbon Silver - this looks like copper, brass or bronzeUCK328 Sterling Silver - this looks like aluminium or stainless steel.Product shown (and delivered to me) is the UCK326 Carbon Silver - I am a little dissapointed with that, but, Oh, well, I didn't do my homework !
