Only complaint I have is the spatulas are junk because they are too small to use. Luckily, I have a larger one that came with my rice cooker. Everything else worked fine when making sushi rolls.

Poor and cheap quality, it's not made in Japan. Not as well as what I respected for. The price is even more expensive than the Japanese store where located downtown LA. I will not recommended to anyone who want to buy.

I have been making sushi since a year, but had no sushi-making set. So my life was pretty hard when I was rolling the sushi, or it took too long to get the rice cool. I got this one because it is cheap. I can easily tell that the quality of the item is lower than what you can find in Asian stores near your place probably as I tested and compared with the ones that my friends have. However, the set works great and it does what it is supposed. So i do not think that lower quality is a great disadvantage in this product's case. So I would buy it again.

お祝いの時はかなり重宝しています。あったかご飯に混ぜるだけ～♪の時も桶にトッピングするとかなり豪華な感じでいいですよ。

チラシ寿司や手巻が大好きです。暖かいご飯を入れると桶の木の匂いがイイ感じでやっぱこれじゃないとね～って思う。お手入れについては、カビはこりごりなので夜、乾燥しにくそうな時は食器用のアルコールを少しふったりしてから特に、隙間部分にドライヤーをかけたりして、水分を飛ばしています。洗うときは桶専用のスポンジで石鹸は使わず、つけ置きしてから洗っています。収納時は風通しの良いところに。下駄箱用の乾燥剤や湿気取りなんかと一緒において置くといいかもです。多少、手間隙かけないとやっぱカビてすぐ駄目になると思います。

タイトルにも書きましたが、とても使い勝手が良いです。付属のしゃもじも小さくて、チラシ寿司をお椀へ綺麗に盛り付けることができます。あと、これにスイカを乗せると、これぞ日本人の夏！ という気分が味わえて大満足です。

The bottom of the tub had to be sanded to remove some tiny shavings still hanging on and potential splinters. This appears to be a quality control or manufacturing issue, as the side is smooth & safe for use without further work. I probably would try a different product, armed with this knowledge. But for those saddled with the same problem, a few minutes with 400-grit sandpaper ought to do the trick. I haven't tried other sushi oke at a similar price range, so I do not know whether this is just a common problem.The tub is made of pine, which is a softer material than cypress, the top material for a sushi oke. Cypress would certainly cost substantially more. This tub is made in China, though the label is in Japanese & the company seems to be based in Japan. The bands on the side made from plastic rather than metal, and they are decorative rather than functional. They come in several pieces that have been glued on to the side (rather than one single piece to reinforce the tub). The label advertises that all components are made from all-natural materials.The size is suitable for 3-4 cups of rice. More than this and it starts to get crowded. The included sushi roller & spatula are useful only for people who don't already have them. The quality of these items is lower than the average stuff you get from Asian groceries.
