Just like the ones I buy from local health food store. Every spoon is perfect. I get about 2-3 years out of these bamboo utensils and they go in the dishwasher. They are the BEST for soup, cereal, and especially ice cream. A great purchase.

I don't want to and cannot eat with metal cutlery and don't like using products made from wood as most of the wood used is endangered and I don't trust the shellac used on them to be non-toxic. These have been a great alternative, easy to use, light to carry, sturdy enough for most uses. I also like the straight handles as many spoons made for soup have short or curved handles that I find uncomfortable. I would love to find though, the same size bamboo spoon with a deeper bowl for soups and stews as the bowls of these are rather shallow. I know that given the depth of a bamboo stalk, this may be difficult to do, but I'm sure it is not impossible. Unfortunately, I have not found any anywhere! Maybe this company can make or source them?

I know this will sound a tad OCD, but... Our eldest dog died, leaving a too-short elevated feeding system for our last dog, Sadie. So, I got her a new set, much more for comfy for her. It came with 2 white enameled bowls, and directions not to use metal with them. What to do??? The bamboo kitchen utensils are too large to get wet chow out of the can, so I buzzed over to amazon to see what I could find. I feel like I hit the lotto with these wonderful spoons! Exactly what I needed. They are uniformly manufactured, sleek-looking, and sturdy -- yes, they stand up to refrigerated canned dog food. Now, hubs know where they are (handy) and uses them, as do I. Solved my problem with great-quality bamboo spoons! Highly recommend!

I was looking for something slightly smaller for making (and eating) kefir, since using metal disrupts the life cycle of the cultures. These were inexpensive and bamboo - exactly what I wanted. Despite being a little bigger than I need, I realized they are ideal for going from stirring the pan or pot, to table for serving, and can also be used as an eating utensil. There is a slight lacquer that seems to be dissipating, but no big deal. Once the lacquer is gone, I will simply (mineral) oil them as I do my other bamboo utensils, boards, and bowls and these spoons should last a lifetime.
