Q. How large a lid will this actually work with?
A. JOMIHONEY jar opener is suitable for jars and bottles with lids between 1" and 4" in diameter, so it works great for small and medium lids.
Q. Does it work for plastic lids?
A. Yes, of course. It works for jars and bottles that have a twist style cap or lid, no matter if the lids are made of metal or plastic.
Q. Does it work for arthritic hands?
A. Yes, it is a very useful tool for arthritic hands. However, if your both hands have very severe arthritis, this may not work for you. It is a manual jar opener that needs both hands. When you use this jar opener, you need one hand to twist the handle and the other hand to hold the jar steadily.

This handy jar opener worked pretty well at first. I haven’t had it for very long. One of the rubber pads is missing and it doesn’t work so well anymore. It dents the lid.

Sadly, as we get older we get arthritis or even a loss of grip and some lids out there are horrible to open due to design. I also bought a silicone hot plate to sit jars on to keep from sliding off counters

I upgraded to the one with rubber grips and it works better than expected. No need to call "The Hulk" to open that tough jar anymore.

I've had one of these for years and absolutely can't do without it. A friend was having big trouble opening some of her jars, so I bought one for her.

We had one of these from the fifties and liked it. We bought this one for my elderly mom, but it did not grip well enough to help her open jar lids. We returned it and found something else.

I love this jar opener! Well made and easy to use. I have arthritis and have much difficulty opening just about everything that comes in a jar/with a lid. Now that I have this gadget I no longer have to locate my husband to open jars for me or if he isn't around try to use hot water, tapping the lid with a butter knife, etc. Now I get this out and have my jars open in seconds. I have not had an issue with the jars being too large or too small for this tool as it adjusts to size. Really love it, quite a time saver and no more sore hands and wrists.

Something my Grandmother had. Lays credence to the old saying that the simple things are the best things.Inexpensive, functions well and is easy to store. Don't pay for the hi-tech gadgets on the market. This works just fine.

Bought this because some jars were giving me a hard time. I feel that companies are cutting costs and some of the lids have very little grip, or they are fastened by a machine with super torque. Recall my grandparents having something like this and it always worked. When it showed up, it was smaller and lighter than the version my grandparents had, that looked like it was made out of a recycled engine block. Regardless, it worked rather easily and the lid came off in a few seconds with an easy twist.
