I store my breastmilk in Mason jars in the fridge until it's time to use it or bag it. These spouts have been a life saver. Whoever says "no use crying over spilled milk" never breastfed or pumped! These have been indispensable. I no longer spill or waste milk. Eat to use, eat to clean, leak proof, and there's 2!

The way it was designed, it’s understandable that the stopper won’t hold once oil runs through it. Just buy it knowing that. The price was right. The stopper is entirely removable if you want a different look. It’s not the same hard material as the rest of the piece. It’s the best there is for four bucks. Will fit on any regular mouth mason jar. These fluted ball mason jars are from Walmart!

Was looking forward to being able to use the multiple main jars I have for everyday use. This oil spout will not allow the sealing ring to be tightened so I can't use them at all.

Purchased this in April of 2020 due to having plenty of mason jars leftover from daughters wedding. Love having a country kitchen theme as well. These are perfect for that. They easily fit into the ringed lid and once tightened stay in place. They are easy to use and had no problem with dripping either. The bad is that after a couple of months I noticed that on one of the jars the spouts plug would not always stay in place unless I held it in for a couple of seconds. At the 1 year mark it went from holding it in place for a couple of seconds to several seconds and then 6 months later it would not stay closed at all. This only happened to one of the spout lids so maybe it was defective. I don't have any problems with the other. I have since ordered another so I'll see how that works out. Both are used for cooking oil. Olive and vegetable.

I read the reviews, decided to try at the low price point anyway; I need some way to cleanly dispense some maple syrup that was given to me in a mason jar. This sounded perfect in theory, but the reviews had me concerned. Armed with the concept of ‘free returns’ and prime shipping, I went for it.Fail. Total fail. So, when I got the first one, I noted that the gasket, a very thin ring of silicone, had lots of etch marks all over it, and rough edges, which is weird. I have lots of things with silicone gaskets. None of them look like this. I was concerned, but figured I should fit the thing in a band for my jar, and test it with water to see if it mattered or not.Second issue: it never fit in the ring. I have Ball mason jars in standard (regular mouth) sizes, and used one of the official Ball bands, just to be sure. I heated it in hot water as per the instructions on the box first, to expand it slightly, then fought like crazy to get the thing to snap in. It never did.Given both challenges, I elected to return for a sub, figured it could just be a bad—recycled—unit. After all, some people did okay with this thing... right?Alas, the second one looked exactly the same on the silicone seal—tiny linear scars all over it randomly, very stiff and rough-edged, as if not well manufactured. It also failed to fit my Ball ring. Useless, had to be returned.Basically, if you want something like this, try a different maker. I’m not sure why the orange version is about $10, while this one is $3, from the same maker; I wonder if the orange one is made of slightly softer silicone, which would really, really have helped with this thing. This fails because the plastic is so stiff; it would totally work, I think, if made with a silicone of medium stiffness, and a bit of a groove for the band to sit in. And then it wouldn’t need a separate silicone super-thin and crummy looking ring to be bonded to the plastic, which this black version has to use; that’s a likely failure point when pouring, not that I was ever able to get to the point of leak-testing.If I were willing to buy at the higher price point, I’d check that one out to see if it’s made in a better design to interface with the band; for now, I’m looking elsewhere. This one is truly disappointing, due to a bad design and not great quality of manufacturing.

While there are many manufacturers of "canning" jars, it seems that this cruet top is designed with such close tolerances that it won't fit the off-brand lid rings without some extra effort. I got mine to fit by expanding the center of one of our lid rings slightly. It works well.update: July 10, 2019 - went to the store to buy some namebrand mason jar rings and come to find out that this cruet doesn't fit the namebrand rings either. Dropping a star because it doesn't fit. Customers shouldn't have to modify an item to get it to fit. Still, it's a great little gadget.update again: July 12, 2019 - oops - It REALLY helps to read the directions. The side of the box says to run the lid ring under hot water for a while and then snap the cruet in the ring. That worked just fine. With that, these are wonderful devices.update: July 13, 2019 - after examining the cruet from the perspective of "how would I make this work?" I believe the diameter of the top of the cruet is too large. It's not designed to function in the same manner as the mason jar lid/band concept, yet it depends on the bands. For some reason the cruet top "snaps" into the jar band instead of just fitting under it like the lids. This method makes it much more inconvenient to keep changing the rings in order to ensure you have a clean ring. I'd drop the rating by half a star if it were possible, but since it's not I'll leave it rounded up to a 5-star.
