These pinking shears are not the sharpest I've ever had during 50 years of sewing, but they are sharp enough for 2-3 layers of cotton quilting fabric. They struggled a bit with 4 layers, though, and cutting a heavier weight fabric or trimming up a project that includes batting could prove difficult. The shears are reasonably comfortable to hold for short periods of time, though I prefer a plastic grip. The operation is a little stiff, but I am hoping that they loosen up a bit with time. So, if you want these for lighter weight fabrics or for paper, they should do the job.

These are not especially stand-out in length, sharpness, or comfort, but they are decent in each. That said, I've had worse shears at higher prices, so I would consider this a great bargain pair of shears for light to medium duty use. If you put your shears to the test regularly, such as quilting, you may want to go for something heavier duty, though.

These work well on a variety of fabrics. They are easy to grip, and easy to use. They feel fairly durable, as well. Overall, a good value. You can get better, for sure. If you use them everyday, you'll probably want something from one of those brands we all know and trust. However, if you just do some occasional projects, these work fine. I was a little impressed, because something like this can be so hit-or-miss, but these really did the job. I only rarely need them, so I didn't want to go for the pricey ones, and now I'm glad I didn't.In short, they work well. And they're a great value.

I remember my mom had pinking shears when I was a kid. They were the brand with the orange handles, but she didn’t let me use them because she had them reserved for fabric and I wanted to use them on paper. I’ve recently been doing more crafts that use both paper and fabric and never did get my own pair of pinking shears. I did find that these are heavy duty. I don’t think they’re the sharpest and I don’t know how easy or difficult they would be to sharpen, but for the price it was worth a shot. I do wish that they came with a sheath or a holster. Because they are heavy duty, if you have trouble with your hands like arthritis, they might not be very comfortable for you to use. I myself didn’t have any problems, and the zigzag edges are nice and sharp right now. Overall, I would recommend these for a light amount of usage. If you need to cut a lot of fabric or are sewing professionally these might be a good starting pair.

I have not owned a pair of pinking sheers in decades so I can not compare these to other pairs. But I was surprised how heavy these. I immediately tested these various papers and one piece of fabric and they cut beautifully. However for me the grip felt uncomfortable in my hands and the blades were very tight. Perhaps the scissors will loosen up with use. I will still use these for cutting papers and fabric for my collages and mixed media art. However I don’t know that I would keep these if the tightness persisted and I was using it to cut all the seams in a dress of something like that. As far as the discomfort in holding the scissors I am not counting down for that because everyone’s hands are different. But I am removing one star for the tightness of the blades and the heaviness of the scissors. But these sheers cut very well and appear to be very durable.

These pinking shears are large and a bit heavy. They cut exceptionally well when tested on both cloth and paper. They leave crisp zigzag edges.

I’ve found that pinking shears are essential for garment sewing, and also useful for craft sewing as well. I use them to prevent bulking when sewing curves and rounded shapes, and they also help edges of fabric from fraying.I used to cut notches into seam allowances with regular scissors before I had pinking shears. But once I treated myself to pinking shears, such tasks are now a breeze. The Jasni Pinking Shears are really great pinking shears and the price is amazing. The build quality is really solid and the blade quality is as good as those that cost more. They cut through layers of fabric with ease, and the cuts are really clean. They also feel comfortable in my hands. These have become an essential in my sewing box.

These shears are excellent. I have used pinking shears a few times before and I found them a little bit difficult to use, especially on thick fabrics or paper, but these are fantastic. I cut through the thin carboard insert that came with the shears, then I cut a piece of heavy duty canvas.I wanted these for making some reusable cotton wraps, you know the ones you see at Farmers markets, they are just a piece of cotton, treated with beeswax and will work in place of saran wrap or ziploc for storing foods. Well some of the nicer ones had a fancy zigzag edge, like the cotton was cut with pinking shears and oh how I longed to make some just like that for my home and maybe as gifts for friends. Then along come these beautiful and super study pinking shears. I think these are much higher quality than the plastic ones you usually see at craft stores. If it wasn't so dry here, I'd think about keeping the little clear topped box these arrived in, but i think they will be okay in my craft tote pocket with some paintbrushes and the like.Something else I really like about these is how comfortably they sit on your fingers and how little pressure it takes to cut things. I have a really painful bruised finger and it didn't hurt to use these though I was tempted to wait to try them out, but it really was so easy to cut into things.I think these would make a nice part of a gift basket for someone who likes crafting.
