We really, really enjoy our e-Flame Electric Fireplace Stove. It looks good and puts out a decent amount of heat. Unfortunately, after just 13 months of ownership the On-Off switch failed so we could no longer turn it on. I contacted E-Flame customer support to see if I could get a replacement switch. That was not possible, according to a customer service rep, but the company offered to send a brand new replacement, even though we were past the one year warranty period. I really appreciate that. So, the appliance gets a 4-star rating because the switch failed (maybe it should be a 3-star rating; such a simple part should not fail for a very, very long time), but customer service definitely gets a 5-star review.

Gives such a cozy, warm feeling to my beach cottage and gives extra warmth on those cold, gloomy winter days. Charming style. Works great!

I am literally obsessed with this darling little faux fireplace!! Not only does it bring a delightful (if not mesmerizing??) and cozy ambiance into my little studio apartment, it also easily warms the place up! It's much more efficient, quiet, and easy to control than my 100+ year old radiator, plus it's beautiful to look at. I always get compliments on it when friends come over because it just gives the apartment such a cozy vibe! I usually keep it on low-medium or medium and it warms up my 12'x14' room just fine. I've never needed to turn it up more than that, and I keep the light on the logs set to its lowest setting at nighttime and don't even notice it! It creates just enough glow to light the floor on my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Bonus points because the little thing is super quiet AND very light, so it's so easy for me to move around by myself and will be easy to box back up to put into storage for the coming summer months! 10/10 recommend!!

Beautiful, and works well for my small basement room. I am really only using this in addition to our central heat, though. So, I haven't even really tried the high heat mode, other than to just turn it on, and make sure it works.Since my room is in the basement, it can get down right frigid, even though it does have a central heating vent. Of course, it's not surprising, since the rest of the basement around my room is completely unfinished, and not connected to the heat. The flames have been on all night, every night, whether I have the heat on that long, or not. And I have run the low heat all night, a few nights. But most of the time, I just run the heater part for a couple of hours, before going to sleep. And, of course, I shut everything down before going to work.It runs almost completely silent, with just the flame effect on. And, other than the minimal noise required for the blower, it's super quiet with the heaters, too. What I love most, is that the top and outer sides don't get hot. So, if I brush by it too closely, or my cat hops up on it, we don't get burned. My room isn't any bigger than an average bedroom, so that is important. And it has just enough clearance beneath it, that the carpet doesn't get hot, either. I was pretty paranoid about that the first day, so I kept checking it about every 30 min for the first couple of hours, then every hour for the next couple. The area of the unit around the heater, itself, got pretty warm (so, don't let anything touch the bottom of that directly!) But the carpet really never seemed to change temp, much.Wish I could take a better pic of what it looks like "burning". It's beautiful. And really nice not to have to worry about smoke and embers. Haha. And since I have a Japanese style bed on the floor, it's the perfect height to lay here and enjoy it. Can't wait until my boyfriend comes back home, so we can snuggle in front of it. ;-)Since this was almost $200 I did purchase the square trade warranty with it, just in case there are any issues with this unit in the future. But, hopefully, it'll keep running just like this. :-)

ETA: Well, you can scratch all the lovely and true things I said about this product, because today it stopped working, barely three months after purchase. It screeched to a halt with a horrible, prolonged rattling noise - some kind of electrical problem, since neither the fake flames nor the heater will work now - and no amount of troubleshooting or resetting could fix it. It's dead as a doornail. So I'll leave it with one star for the good memories, because it worked great for three months, but a product this expensive that dies this quickly isn't worth buying. Sorry to say, I can't recommend it.I rarely write reviews, but I have to say, I love this little electric fireplace-stove. From a distance or in a darkened room, it can pass as a cast-iron stove. The unit casing is mostly plastic, with some metal, but it doesn't look cheap. I primarily bought this for the fake flames, which work perfectly and lend a lovely ambiance to our living room when the stove is lit. You can raise or lower the flame effect with a dimmer dial, and I love the red glow of the logs. For those wondering about assembly, it's not difficult. There are four legs, with two screws each, which can be attached with a regular Phillips head screwdriver. I did have a little trouble inserting the legs into the slot and lining up the legs with the holes for the screws; they are slightly off the corners, so it takes a little patience and persistence to get them straight. But once assembled, the unit is very sturdy and level. (It cannot be used without the legs on it, because the heating unit hangs down beneath the body of the stove.) We tested the heater but haven't used it yet (weather is too warm), but it is fairly quiet. Also, it is not heavy at all; it is easy to lift and move from room to room.Very pleased with this unit!
