This is okay for what it is, I guess. But it's way too short to be used as a mecate. I thought because of its short length, I could just tie it to the snaffle and use it as reins for my donkey, but it doesn't have a very "live" feel to it. Feels very dull. The description says it's a cotton/acrylic/wool blend, but other places say it's mohair blend. So is it sheep's wool or mohair? And what percentage? Because of the feel, I would guess it's leaning VERY heavily toward cotton/acrylic. I do worry about wear and tear because of the acrylic component.Anyway, most of this is in the description, but they shouldn't be calling this a mecate, as it's less than half the length it should be. So people who aren't careful readers are going to be disappointed, and I feel that's misleading.

The yarn is pretty cheap quality, and it's way too short to be used as a mecate rein, and it's overpriced for what you are getting. I would not recommend this.
