The New Jico SAS neo/s exceeded my expectations. The sapphire cantilever brings greater clarity and better transient speed. Can’t wait to try a ruby cantilever version!

I have a dual 1229 turntable with a v15 type iii and the original needle got bent so I replaced with this Jacob SAS and it sounds incredible thru my system.

This is a great find!I had a Shure V15 iii cartridge I bought back in about 1975 that I really loved. It has a very even, accurate sound and can track anything. But, styli wear out and mine was no exception. Unfortunately, Shure for some reason no longer makes replacement styli! What to do?I tried some other hi end (expensive!) cartridges from other manufacturers, but I really didn't like them much -- none came close to the sound of my V15!So I tried the Jico neo SAS replacement stylus in my old Shure cartridge, and I'm glad I did!It sounds at least as good as my old Shure stylus -- maybe better, but basically the same excellent sound I had grown to appreciate.Experimenting with Shure's demonstration/test records showed me a couple of positives -- the Jico stylus tracks equally well to the old Shure stylus, which is pretty good. And, it does not alter the resonant frequency of the stylus/tonearm combination. I'm using 1.4g tracking force, same as with the old Shure stylus. It also has to my ear the same output level the old stylus provided. There's also the fact that the stylus uses a specially shaped diamond needle attached to a sapphire "cantilever" (that's the rod that goes into the cartridge body), so how cool is that?! You have to read Jico's copy on this to get a better idea of what this is.At any rate, as long as Jico keeps providing these styli I can keep enjoying the excellent qualities of this cartridge! As an update, I paid about $280 for this cartridge -- That in my mind makes it a pretty good deal, but I wouldn't pay much more than that!

Wonderful stylus upgrade for the old Shure V15 Mark III cartridge.
