I was not aware something like this existed when I first started doing puzzles! It works great for storage while you are working on a puzzle and do not have space to dedicate to leaving it out all the time. Great for small spaces.

I’ve never used a jigsaw puzzle mat before, but I love puzzles and since I just got a 3000-piece puzzle, I thought I’d try this roll-up mat.The mat comes in a box with far more than I expected. You get the mat itself, a storage bag, six sorting trays, an air pump, an inflatable tube, and fasteners.The idea is that you create your puzzle on the mat, and when it comes time to put it away, you inflate the tube, lay it atop the puzzle, and slowly roll the mat up around the tube. That keeps the most pieces in place and preserves the work for next time.But what we need to talk about is the mat itself. First of all, it’s HUGE. I mean H-U-G-E. Yes, I bought the one for 3000 pieces (53”x35”), but it’s even big for that. I assume they did that on purpose so you’d have plenty of fabric to use when rolling it up, but dang. It’s just huge. That means that when I do smaller puzzles, I’ll still have to do them on a big table.The biggest challenge is that the mat is squishy and soft…and sometimes it’s like trying to put a puzzle together on carpet. If the pieces aren’t super good fits, it can get frustrating.All in all, this is ok I suppose, but it’s just not perfect, and when you’re working with 3000 pieces, you don’t want something that’s just ok.

It’s terrible to build a puzzle on this surface. It constantly buckles and pulls pieces apart.Didn’t even get far enough to try rolling and storing

I love doing puzzles, especially big ones, but we live in a small home with only one adequate table for working large puzzles. And occasionally we have to eat. :) I had stopped doing big ones due to complaints from my partner about having to eat on TV trays when the table was occupied by my fun. This roll up mat has solved that problem.The mat itself is not perfect, in that there are a couple of creases that have not yet worked out. So I have to make sure I have well snapped pieces in that area. One of the puzzles I worked had a lot of odd-shaped pieces that basically just snuggled in place, without actually snapping in. That one was a bit of a challenge with this mat. I had to roll it very slowly and sometimes unroll and start over when pieces shifted too much. Still, it has allowed me to resume my enjoyable pastime without upsetting my partner. And at the current price of $20 it is a great bargain, especially compared to the hard puzzle boards.

We camp every few weekends with our best friends, and a good jigsaw puzzle is a fun activity while enjoying an afternoon of conversation and company. But, you can't leave it out overnight because of fog and critters, and, what if we don't finish by the time we have to pack up and head home? Here's the solution!The mat itself is a neoprene-like material that we are advised many times we should iron before using. Well, we don't camp with an iron, so we just laid it out and got busy on our 1000-piece puzzle. Maybe the humidity helped it relax, but we didn't have an issue with creases, anyway. We actually liked the material so much that I think I will use it every time I do a puzzle, even when the need to roll up is not important. It's soft enough so the extra width hung easily over the edge of the picnic table. The lines drawn on it helped my BFF line up her edge pieces (edges are her thing, I concentrate on the images) so we knew where everything would ultimately go.The blow-up tube to wrap the mat and puzzle around was interesting. Yes, it's small when deflated, for easy storage. But, I think I would have killed myself before the included pump ever finished filling it. My husband whipped out a. battery-operated pump that filled it in no time, though. Then the partially-solved puzzle rolled up nicely. We were mostly done, so the extra pieces could stay on the mat. There was only a bit of repair needed when unrolled. We only used one of the "leather" sorting trays, but it was convenient for me to put the edges in for her as I found them. The unique snaps on them make it easy to break them down and store with the mat in the included storage bag. Once packed, everything fits easily and conveniently together.

Love it. My cat tends to try and help me and now I can roll it up and keep her off of it. Very easy to see the pieces with the black background and love that I can do a 2000 piece puzzle on it.
