Extremely comfortable and well made for the price.Ditch the insole if your size feels small and use a thin replacement. I traced the original insole and cut my own out of cork and 5/6oz veg tan, still deciding which of the two I like better. The original insole lifted my heel way too high in the shoe, these are perfect.A couple of notes:Remember that these are basically leather boots, if you're wearing them every day buy a second pair and rotate them. Two pairs of boots in rotation last as long as three pairs worn every single day. It's cheaper over time and your shoes will stay in good condition much longer.Stock shoellies are made of nubuck, use suede conditioner sprays and protectors if you want to keep the original look, smooth leather balms and winter treatments will darken these nubucks a lot and you'll lose the soft surface texture.

These are like a low top desert boot. Comfortable on first wear and get more comfortable with each wear. I like the natural leather, thicker than most. They do require a short break in period. The soles seem to be a good cross between soft and durable. The best part is they can be re-soled.

I wear a 13 in sneakers. I sized down to a 12.5. Perfect fit. Great room in the toe box. Very comfortable. They do smell weird when you open the box though. Like new tires and glue. Went away in a day. These are my first Jim Green's but will not be by last!

Very well made, light and flexible. The wedge sole provides good cushioning. Unfortunately these fit a , so I had to return themlittle narrower than the African Ranger, so I had to return them. As an aside I did order a custom pair from the manufacturer on a wider last. If you are a diabetic and need a wider toe box I can't recommend the African Ranger enough.

These shoes were obviously used.. I’m frustrated with Amazon for reselling these and disgusted with the low life who wore these multiple times and then sent them back. There was a water stain on them and scuff marks along the sides. The soles were clean but had visible wear. The tongues where they touch the laces had heavy wear marks from the laces rubbing against the soft leather tongues. Cool shoes and looked very well made.. I’m guessing there are people at Amazon who inspect returns for stuff like this and I got the guy who doesn’t give a damn

I found the overall shoe to be small, My foot didn't fit in the shoe with the insole installed, as my foot is too tall. I've never had this issue with another piece of footwear. My biggest issue whoever was with the heel, this shoe didn't hug my heel at all. I gave this a few tries around the house and sent them back, the construction felt of good quality, and while the sole did smell like a tire, this isn't a big deal to me. My biggest issue is with how poorly the shoe fits, as it's very poorly designed, at least for my foot.On the width, it was a bit more narrow than I was hoping, this could just be this specific shoe, not the brand. Not sure, but it was pretty wide all things considered.

The shoe is well made and comfortable. It fits true to my sneaker size (11 US). At first is bit snug, specially in the instep (if you have a high one like me) but it loosens up the more you use it.The main flaw is in the heel. The opening is way to big so it never hugs your feet to prevent the heel from slipping, and the height is way too shallow. I will keep using them and hope it molds better to the heel.If it wasn't for this issue it would be a 4.5 to 5 stars shoe for the price.

The Shoellie in Houston brown is my 5th pair of Jim Green shoes. I got the Vellies in rough out fudge a while ago and they're my go to for when I go to the office. I got these so I had something to rotate them out with. Both are great for office casual. They're comfortable if you do a bit of walking in an urban environment. One thing to point out is that this has a different insert than any of my other JG shoes I've gotten. All my other pairs, with the exception of the Numzaan had what was basically a thin piece of calf skin over a felt pad with a plastic piece for arch support. This pair came with a leather covered rubber insert with the arch support. It's the first JG pair of shoes where I didn't feel like I had to replace the insert right away. Definitely an upgrade and hopefully it's what they come with by default now. Would consider buying these separately to be honest. They're not the best I've ever had, but they get the job done and they're low profile though they'd likely work with lots of other brands. One nit pick. The oringo sole is embarrassingly loud on tile floors when new out of the box. I feel like I had to walk a block or so on concrete to scuff them up a bit. Had them about a week now and they're still a bit squeaky on tile, but not as bad.
