Excellent problem solver! I have a bike that has "investment cast track fork-end" brackets for the rear wheel - some people call it horizontal drop outs. The investment cast ones usually have a reinforcement wall perpendicular to the drop-out: U shaped reinforcement walls along the perimeter. Mine certainly do. (Sheldon Brown calls this a track fork-end and it's not a drop-out - as the wheel does not drop out, one has to pull it back after removing the chain - it it's what I have with a geared hub installed into it) . The reinforcement walls makes for sturdiness of the drop outs i.e. compared to them just being made from flat sheet metal - but thus far it meant I couldn't install a trailer bracket as the perpendicular walls are in the way of the bracket. With this nut the reinforcement walls from the drop-outs are cleared and I can finally mount a trailer hitch on my internally geared track fork end/horizontal drop-out bike! This is mega awesome - this is a super exciting development. I found these by chance and am very excited! Well done, excellent product!!It ships as 2 each, so it means I'll have a spare - might be good to have, this is an exotic specialty item.
