I would avoid these hood latches. I had them on my truck for maybe a month and a half two months and they started to rust out. They were easy to install and I’m thankful for that because now I’m gonna have to buy more and install them all over again because these cannot stay on the truck as they are completely rusted out

Ever since seeing a pair like this I've wanted to get some. I got a different pair and they just didn't work so I ended up getting these and I like them a lot. But just so you know they're not easy to install. The top is a snap but the bottoms really require some work. In order to get to the half inch bolt that takes it out you'll have to have two universals as well as a couple of long extensions on your socket wrench. Yes that's correct. It's either 13 mm or half inch I'm using metric and so I ended up using a 13 mm socket on the lower part and the top half has two 10 mm nuts. You will have to fish the extension through quite a few places in order to get to that 13 mm nut on the bottom on both sides. On my Wrangler which is a 2016 the left side was more difficult. There's a expansion bottle that has to be moved and that comes off with the 10 mm bolt. You can just move it slightly away to get more access. The one on the right side is a little bit easier although not that much even though it appears to have more space. I ended up using the 13 mm nuts from the original Hood latches on the bottom because they fit and they're much easier to to use. The ones that come with a kit are aircraft type and have a nylon bushing inside. There's a separate washer and trying to fit the separate washer on there and then fish the bolt in there, hold it in place, thread the Allen key bolt through and do everything simultaneously is nearly impossible. If you use the original Factory bolt you can hold it with two fingers slide it in place and it just seems to go much more smoothly after trying to fish left side nut and washer in place for 30 minutes, I gave up and using the original nut I was able to do it in 5 minutes. Other than that it all goes together smoothly and it's a nice latching unit that works very well and I guess only time will tell at this point. Its stainless and aluminum. Im thinking that keeping the pin lubricated will increase its lifespan.

I have tried other styles/ brands on Amazon and the hardware was cheap garbage. These have solid pins and large diameter hardware that you can actually get tight and keep tight. Very well constructed and decent powder coat. Easy install in less than 30 minutes.

The product looks very good, recently purchased and already installed, but only for a few months it becomes very ugly, rusty, and loses its color very quickly. The paint they use is of very poor quality.

These hood latches are just what I was looking for. Easy install and adjustable. I’m up north so I’ll see if they hold off rust
