I used this auger to make some post holes for some walkway railings we are putting up in a garden area that has some uneven areas… very good, heavy duty tool that works very well for the job I need to get done. VeryGood! Powerful and quiet… no small engine noise to listen to… That’s great… and it’s easy to use… the weight of the tool helps for making the holes… but the size isn’t to big- it all fits nicely into the heavy canvas bag for storing and taking it to the job. It’s very well made and should have great durability- it’s not flimsy or cheaply made. The hole were made easily, but do be ready for the unexpected rock of bigger size. The small ones- no problem but “grapefruits size”, be careful- it’ll jerk your grip pretty good- power at work. The price is a good value, because you won’t have to do small engine maintenance or repair. If your job site is far from a power source (120v) use a heavy extension cord. I’ll use it a lot for digging post holes. VeryGood

This Electric Auger Digger is perfect as the 200 rpm rotating speed saved me time a lot of time when I was trying to install new fences! It was very durable, functional, and easy to use as all I needed to do was grip the handle and push down a bit while the machine does the rest! It’s also very easy to pull the machine up as it isn’t that heavy at all. Overall, I’d say that this is great considering the price and what comes with it!

It's a shame that the bits don't fit any of them. We have another similar type of auger, and the bits fit that one, so I think it's a size error. The other one I have has two size options, and if these fit that, then this one sent the wrong size bits, although I can't find an exact size other than the bit hole drilling size itself. The problem is that the bit is too tiny and needs to be the next size up by centimeters or so to fit onto the motor. Comes with a nice bag.

It works, has some torque so hold on tight. Didn't have much trouble with the ground where I live which has a lot of caliche. Be careful if it catches a root from a tree or some other unknown buried obstacle. When I first opened the package neither one of the augers nor the extension would fit on the spindle from the motor. I had to sand both the spindle on the motor and the inside of the extension shaft to get it to fit over the spindle. It takes a while if you do it by hand but sanding the paint the put on the extension shaft and a little of the spindle and you get a snug fit. While it works great I am only giving it three stars as it was quite a hassle to find my sandpaper and then get the pieces to fit together.

This makes quick work of my post setting! It's got a decent amount of power and goes through my yaupon root infested sandy soil quite well. Of course, sand is easy, but filled with matted roots? Not so much but this thing can do it. Even some heavier roots, it will snag but you just keep hitting it and it'll break. It's great for that fact alone, I don't have to stab through root mats by hand!

Full disclosure - we were unable to try this. This is a major piece of equipment and it's heavy. Honestly thought the lawn guy (18) would be able to use it. Once I realized how heavy it was, it was packed back and returned because I don't want anyone hurting themselves!! From what I saw when opened, the item is made well and the auger drills are some beasts!!

Infuriatingly, for the product I received, the female head of the auger bits and extension rod were too small to fit in the motor head's male drive shaft (drive stub?). And it was not just because the paint job added too much thickness (proven after hours of filing and 3/4" spade bit hijinks); it was well beyond that (by 1/32"-1/16""???). After all the filing, it was neither returnable nor operable, so I had to buy an angle grinder then, many sparks later, adequately narrowed the shaft/stub, and got the earth auger into an operable condition.BTW, if your product has a similar problem (i.e., the auger bits fit into the extension rod but no bits nor the extension rod fit onto the male drive shaft/stub of the head motor), *only* grind down the male drive shaft/stub. (I also ground down the female part of the 6" auger bit and that makes my next steps for the extension bit and 4" auger bit much more complicated). On the other hand, I liked the motor head (it seemed powerful enough, albeitbasically *no* speed control (unlike the HD gas rental I've used previously): just a) a switch between off, "I", or "II" (due to the time wasted filing I'm not sure of the difference between "I" and "II" - reverse or speed or power?) and b) a separate safety-push-button-for-on and c) a trigger pull (that was really full-on or full-off, with no in between or slow start). Releasing the trigger - e.g., after hitting a root/rock and losing control of the head - will stop the motor so that's all good. The two bit sizes and the extension bit were nice. The bits have a protruding bit for precise hole positioning, plus a leading cutting edge for cutting roots (worked well for spaghetti sized roots; doubtful it can tackle 1" diameter roots, TBD for roots in the middle). The bag was nice and seemed to fit the motor head :-) but not the bits :-(.But ... the bit and drive shaft/stub size mismatch is infuriating. So, make sure the right motor drive shaft/stub size fits the bits and then it seems like 5 stars. Otherwise, it's a project.

Auger motor shaft is about 0.7 mm to big. The auger bits wont slip on. Useless.
