I think this alarm is a pretty cool idea, and the hardware seems pretty solid. The simplicity (once you figure out what the little icons represent) means that you can quickly set it up in one of the modes and expect it to do the job of startling someone who is getting near/into something they shouldn't.I tested all of the modes except the bluetooth one, and they seemed to activate and alarm as expected. But you need to test each new scenario when setting it up to make sure that the positioning and sensitivity meets your needs and performs how you expect.I tried to emulate the "alarm hanging on the hotel room door handle" use-case and noticed that if I very slowly moved the door (causing the alarm to swing back and forth slightly while hanging underneath the handle), as long as I moved it slowly enough that the swinging alarm didn't contact the door, it wouldn't set off the alarm. It seems like in that situation it would be better to prop the alarm on the floor so that when the door swings open it contacts and knocks over the alarm. The other thing that I was curious about was how to turn off/reset the alarm. It appears that you cancel the alarm sound and lights when you press any of the buttons (it doesn't require you to turn the on/off switch off). So it might be less of a deterrent to quick-thinking/quick-handed intruders when you are not present and in the vicinity to hear the sound. (If you just quickly grab at the alarm, you may invariably press a button and disarm it.)If this alarm came with a radio remote to arm/change modes/disarm and set off/cancel the alarm, I think that would make it 5 stars. It does give you about 10 seconds to situate the alarm after using the buttons to activate the mode, but this would be easier if you could position the alarm first and then use the remote to set the alarm. And if you were using it temporarily to alert you if a bike moves at a cafe, this would allow you to disarm the alarm before you go to move the bike. Without the remote, you basically end up setting off the alarm whenever you want to disarm it, and that can draw unnecessary attention to your location.I'll definitely keep this in my travel bag for a little more piece of mind.
