I rode for hours in heavy rain & the top kept me very dry. I would have rated it a 5 except the bottoms don't open very wide so I couldn't get them over my riding pants, which are heavy duty & bulky for protection. So from the waist down I was drenched. If I had worn Jean's the pants would probably have fit.Update: I tried wearing the pants under the riding pants. Way too tight. I couldn't sit in them, with only exercise tights under them. NOT a true US XL.

I WISH this fit better. I really like the styling and look of the suit but the pants are cut too short through the waist and the thigh area is too small to wear with jeans underneath. If free exchange had been included I would have tried a larger size but I decided to go with a different company that offered free returns so I could make sure they fit properly.

The jacket in this set is great. It is a 2 layer construction, very durable. The fit was perfect. I wear a large Joe Rocket Cleo 2.2 jacket and the large in this fit right over it perfectly. I rode with it in 45-50 degree rainy weather at speeds up to 70mph. The jacket performed well. It kept me warm and dry. It did catch and hold air in the shoulders and back, pulling the jacket up in the back, however, it wasn't until after the weekend that I discovered there is a vent across the shoulders that probably would have solved that.The pants, however, seem like an afterthought from Joe Rocket so they can charge for a "2 piece set". The pants are a single thin layer that ripped at the crotch seam and across the thigh the first time I tried them on. Very poorly constructed. I like the jacket so much I will keep the set just for the jacket. Perhaps I can fix and reinforce the pants with other material in that region.

The sizing runs small. Order a larger size if you want to wear it over your riding cloths. Make sure you get it right because the restocking fee to return it is $12 and the company gets huffy if you ask them to resend you a return label. The product itself is great,
