My John Deere 335 wasn’t charging the battery while operating. I tested the leads of the old voltage regulator with a multimeter and was getting wildly varying voltage read outs. Took 2 minutes to swap it out with the new regulator, and now the tractor charges perfectly.

So, I bought this for my John Deere LX277 riding mower. I should have bought this sooner. I had hard start issues, batter drain issues and power issues during the use of my mower. I bought this Voltage Regulator about 6 weeks ago and the difference was night and day.Over the years I had problems starting my mower when it was colder out (like early spring, or late fall) and I would play with the choke and the smell of fuel was in the air. I replaced the ignition coils, replaced the spark plugs, replaced the battery, charged the battery repeatedly. I don't regret changing the coils (the resistance was high on them) or spark plugs (they were dirty and beat). The mower is after all 23 years old. But what put an end to playing with the choke thinking I had to hit a sweet spot to get it to start (it would take like 5-7 minutes of playing to get it to start) was buying the voltage regulator.Installing it was a 5 minute job. Take one screw out and loosen the other, slide the old one out and put the new one in, screw it tight enough and reconnect the wires and replace the batter because the old one is shot probably and it takes 5 seconds to start my mower and it runs nice and stable. The Voltage Regulator came in a John Deere yellow and green box and had similar markings to the original one I removed. I am cautious because there are cheap imitations of everything out there. I'm happy with it. There are voltage tests you can run while the mower is running at full gas to check if yours is failing. I didn't bother. I pretty much ruled out any other problem, though.

My John Deere lawnmower has been operating for the last 2 years with its battery charging light on until finally last week it would no longer start. I found original equipment (voltage regulator) online at half the price in which they wanted at my local dealership. I removed the old regulator and replaced it with the new one in minutes, connected my battery and jump started the tractor...... the battery light was now off and my tester showed the tractor was now charging perfectly!

The orange alternator light was staying on and the battery would drain. I installed this new regulator and all seems well now. The male terminals were not in the same locations, and I had to pull the wire harness a bit to get them to hook up.

This product fixed my issue. Because of the different shape than the original, the wired had to be stretched pretty tight to get all of the connections. Once installed, it worked like a champ. Easy installation, just be careful with the wiring.

Replaced a voltage regulator with no DC output on a John Deere LX277 with a Kawasaki 17 HP V-twin with this regulator. This regulator has the Green and Yellow wire output to satisfy the voltage monitor. Had to remove starter to access rear screw but is a quick replacement and works well. Puts out up to 14.4 VDC at high speed to keep battery charged. Best price found with shipping was on Amazon. Was not Prime shipping but received it in 2 days, very satisfied with seller.
