Let me start with the bottom line...my John Deere 950 had an electrical problem that was solved by installing a good voltage regulator...but NOT this one. I ordered one of these and installed it...still would not charge the battery. (I had already replaced the battery with the best one that money can buy.) Then I replaced the alternator...still would not charge the battery. Took the tractor to John Deere and told him that I still had BOTH the original alternator and the original voltage regulator. Note that the original voltage regulator I had replaced 25 years earlier because a mouse chewed through one of the wires...but I kept it because the only problem was that wire.John Deere did a full evaluation, then called me and asked me to bring in my original voltage regulator. The technician repaired the wire on my original voltage regulator, installed it and NOW the battery charges just fine. I sent this piece of crap back because the John Deere dealer told me that they were making them wrong where the way they were wired - they would never work. When they have to replace a voltage regulator, the tech told me they first have to send them off to some electronic place to have them torn apart and re-wired. Isn't that ridiculous? So, fortunately I still had my original voltage regulator that simply needed a new connector to replace the bad wire.Obviously, these are bad voltage regulators. If you need a voltage regulator, try to find a third party manufacturer that makes an equivalent. That's the best advice I can give. Best of luck.

Worked as it should. Was different than the old one on my JD 320, so it required new bolts.
