I would have loved a CD to sing and strum along to as I did not know many of the songs. I love John Mayer but I think that I need to complete a couple of more beginner books before takling this one.

Has a very good selection of songs. I was hoping when I got it there would be some tablature, if that's what you're looking for it's not in here. BUT the songs offer a pared down version of some of the best of Mayer. I recommend it if you're looking to be able to strum out some awesome songs.
