These are the best strings for acoustic guitar in my opinion. I love the tone that i get from them and I've been using them for years. They don't last as long as some of the other strings on the market but i would gladly change strings more often for the tonal quality.

Just strung my ej200 and wow, these string brings it alive. I love the sound and the feel. It's like going back to the 60's. Can't wait to gig with them and hopefully they last for a while

On my Martin HD-35 dreadnaught, John Pearse P200L 80/20 Bronze Lights are my favorite strings so far, slightly edging out Martin Retros. The HD-35 has a lot of low frequency punch, and these strings sound very balanced and sparkly on it. The tone is very sweet, while Martin Retros are a bit twangy. Fantastic for finger picking, flat picking, and chords. Tried them on a Taylor 814CE and it was a bit too much treble and not enough bass. Phosphor bronze seems to be the best bet there.

Ever wonder why your guitar never has the sweet woody sounds like the old recordings of Simon and Garfunkel, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, Harry Chapin, Gordon Lightfoot, Arlo Guthrie, or the Grateful Dead? It's because NONE of those artists used phosphor bronze strings for their recordings (and definitely no coated strings either)! No they used 80/20's to get their amazing sounds, and John Pearse makes the best 80/20 strings in the world!Bright and sparkling when first put on your guitar, and then within a week they mellow to warm and clear perfection. And then that sound lasts and last.Try these strings. Give them 2 weeks and you'll be hooked on them for a lifetime!

These are nice strings. I play chords mainly and these strings have a full harmonic range. The chords 9th's and 7th's come across loud and clear. They settle down quickly after a restring. I get about seven weeks out of them before they dulled off. Price is on the high side but they are a pleasure to play, which encourages me to play more.

This is my string of choice for finger style playing on my Martin OM28V. Bright, crisp, accurate, but with a strong bottom end. Holds tuning and lasts for a respectably long time.

I like the sound of John Pearse strings quite a bit. I'm very used to the coating on Elixer strings, however, and found John Pearse strings to have a bad feel to them. Sliding up and down on this is difficult. For me, the poor action was the make-or-break. I went back to Elixers.
