As usual the SPX Johnson pump is very simple to change. One latch and a twist and it's out. The same in reverse to install the new pump and then connect the two wires. I have three of these aboard my Silverton 453MY and only need to change them about 10 - 12 years.

First, the pump did not come with the fittings shown in the picture. Because I needed those fittings and they were missing, I initially gave the pump a one star rating, thinking I would have to return it. With this, I found a 1 1/8" i.d. bilge pump hose that slides on securely without using any fittings, so I decided to try the pump.With this, I put the pump in a tub of clear, clean water that was 6" deep (the pump was completely submerged) and it would only pump water intermittently and then not at all, despite that the motor was running and the lithium iron phosphate battery powering it was fully charged and of sufficient amperage capacity to power the pump and its small, 3-ampere current draw (the battery has a 50 Amp-hour rating and is capable of delivering 50 amps continuously) . I am sending this pump back to Amazon for an exchange since Johnson bilge pumps are supposed to be good. I will update this review after I test the next pump.

This pump in no way does it come close to 1250 gph.Does not do what I need, will be returning

Great pump. Debris clogs it but it’s easy to clean. Good flow for me but I don’t have to pump very high.

Motor has lasted 10 years already the plastic was cracked. So I change that part and put the motor away for another day.

been useing this little pump to run a small recurulating highbanker 8 inch x 24. use a 750 amp portable power source, runs this pump for 6 hours.constant or all day if i turn off power to it and dig more dirt to run each time. this unit puts out over 20 gallons per minute more than enough. very happy with this bildge pump. very well made.and is made in U.S.A.
