All operator and service literature encourages the use of 2 + 4 fuel conditioner, for day-to-day operation, particularly during periods of engine non-use. Gasoline, as purchased at the pump, has a guaranteed shelf life of three months. 2 + 4 fuel conditioner extends the useful life of fuel in a number of ways.
Metal deactivators - to render brass or copper alloy chemically inactive toward gasoline
Anti-oxidants - to slow the chemical breakdown of gasoline
Double strength - treats more fuel per ounce
Corrosion inhibitors - to help reduce long term corrosion of metal fuel system components
Dryers - to absorb and isolate moisture in the fuel system
Concentrated formula - 8 oz. treats 32 gallons, 16 oz. treats 64 gallons, 32 oz. treats 128 gallons

Not all stabilizers are the same. Stay with the manufacturer's recommended stabilizer, when it comes to outboard engines and ethanol blended gas. Evinrude recommends this product with there E-TEC engines. This product doesn't add additional alcohol.
