  • Yes, That is what it is for. It keeps water off the joists that are under a wooden deck. The protection tape can last for really a long time.

  • Only one side. You can watch the video provided by the seller to see how it works.

  • Yes,The joist tape just protects the tops but no pressure treated joists would mean you have a couple of years lifespan on the deck as opposed to a decade or more with pressure treated wood.

Update 10/15/2024, upgraded to 5* because of their exceptional customer service. The seller initiated a full refund on their own. Update 8/26/2024, it is not sticking. I am using another brands tape to hold this bad product down, on the same wood! The backing paper didn't come off in 1 piece so I had to stop rolling, pick off the paper & try to get it off in 1 piece again. I had to do this often so the adhesive got on everything & the tape would stick to itself. I've used deck tape often & this was the worst. I can not recommend this product.

I wanted to build the frame of the deck to last as long as possible. I figured if I seal the tops of the posts from absorbing water, it would help prevent rot.

I love this tape. I used it between insulation panels on my garage door and to seal tears in tarps over my vehicles and equipment. Incredible product.

I don’t know how to review a product that is used for the long haul. But it applied easily, and it looks like it should do what it’s intended to do.

I hesitated to buy the wide roll, but I'm glad I did. The deck has some exposed boards prone to rot on the wide side, and this should prevent it. Overall, I think joist tape is unnecessary with treated lumber, though.

We got this to put on top of our joists for our deck around our pool. What I failed to notice is that it is 6" wide, so it worked out great for the stairs, but had to be cut down to size for the joists. Time will tell if it was worth getting on the longevity of the deck.

I put this on all of my joist for my deck. Trying to remove the backing to apply can be difficult to separate, but for how well it sticks to the wood only makes since. Once you get it started it is real easy to apply. Just make sure you peel the backing as you are laying the tape down on the wood. If you peel the whole piece at one time, you are almost guaranteed to have it stick to its self and you will never get it to separate.
