Will work, but not well. Tends to leave more solder behind than my old Soldavac. It has good suction, but I believe it's problem is that the trigger is part of the plunger, so you have to hold it loosely enough for the plunger to slip from under your finger when it is triggered. That results in the tip moving more than it should and not doing good with the solder.

vraiment mal chier, le bouton est mal positionner et quand on fait pression pour aspirer l'aspiration pers de sa force a cause que le déclencheur est a même le piston... et du même coup on se retrouve a bouger, une chance que sa ne sert pas pour du travail de précision! sarcasme...

Does it's job but the release button is attached to the middle and is awkward to use compared to most other designs. I'd spend a little more money next time and get one that has a real button.

Used this on through-hole pcb components and it worked as advertised. I'd never used this type of desoldering pump before, but it was easy to learn - worked much better in my application than a desoldering wick.
