I wish these were a little sturdier, the containers seem like they will not last too long. I took out some of the cards because the words were horrible for young kids. It’s okay for the price but hard for the kids to open and shut without help.

This product is pretty good for teaching beginning sounds, but it has a couple of flaws. First, some of the pictures may begin with the letter on the tub but that doesn’t mean it begins with that letter’s standard sound. As I was working with a group of kinders today, I noticed ship is in the “s” tub. The problem is sh has its own unique sound. Ship and soup do not start with the same sound and shouldn’t be in the same bin.The other problem is x. X does not make the /ks/ sound at the beginning of words, only at the end. Therefore this tub should either be left out or have pictures like Fox or mix. Xylophone may begin with an x, but its first sound is /z/ and x-ray has the x saying its name. This does not help students decode or encode English words using phonics.
