Nice item, good quality but not useful for my DIY Lionel Train layout. I purchased this item to use to support a bridge when it is raised, but I may have made the wrong selection because this item has high gas pressure and needs more force to function than my bridge support before it breaks. It is not a good choice for me.

Tried to replace our existing RV storage compartment struts. Same product number on the old part but another important identifier number was not included or specified on Amazon on this new version. Turns out the product received had a barrel that was .5 inches longer than our old part (all are JR springs). The overall in-package length of these was 20 3/4 inches which is .5 inches longer than the expanded length of our old springs. Needless to say, the door wouldn't close with these new ones.
