Only lasted for 1 hour, then the buckle strap holes tore open, causing them not to stay in place.. to thin, not strong enough, and it was placed on a small horse.

These are complete junk. I ordered these because the leather hobbles were out of stock. When the horse moves the chains break or the holes simply pull out and your horse is loose. Junk, junk, junk, junk.

I bought these hobbles to discourage my horse from pawing both on and off the trailer. They are completely worthless. The center part of the buckle is not long enough so it can flip from side to side in the corners. All my horse had to do is lift up his foot, stretch the nylon strap sideways just enough to pull the buckle apart and he was free. After he accidentally got free once or twice he learned to do it on purpose. Also the nylon strap was fraying at the end after only 10 minutes of use. I would not recommend these for any horse other than one who already stands quietly.

I like the hobbles very much, and seem to be good quality. HOWEVER, they are not at all what the picture represents. The fleece lining is not a lining at all, it is a cover you have to slip over the entire nylon cuff. Therefore the holes in the cuff do not go through the fleece part at all, and it would be difficult to make the holes in the fleece strong, much less match up, with the holes in the nylon cuff. The picture is VERY misleading.

This is my second pair of these hobbles, the first one was made with thin leather which ended up tearing around the buckle holes, eventually ripping them completely apart! I got this new set thinking nylon would be stronger but sure enough, this nylon is also pretty thin and has started to tear, same as the leather did. So, I got out my sewing machine and attached a second layer of nylon to the straps so now they are double-thick and so far has worked out very well. With the stronger material, I am really happy with these hobbles and would have given them 5 stars, but since I had to alter them to make them stronger, they ended up with 3.
