This is good for holding important documents and letters or even your children’s school certificates. Hold quite a few. The only thing that could be better or improved is the zip, it could me a bit more easily to close.

Good product. It is the perfect size to store our family important documents. Before this I had everything stuffed in a box, but this helps keep it all organized and easily accessible. It's extremely functional for a family's important paperwork and keepsakes.

Do I expect this to be completely unharmed if my house burns down? No. It's not a safe.However, it would be good protection if I had to grab it and run out with my important files. I don't have a lot, just birth & marriage certificates, social securities, passports, a few contracts, car titles. So there is more than enough space for my needs.My whole family knows where it is located, so it can be accessed easily. It's really helpful when going to places like the DMV who ask for a ton of documentation. It's all just right there together.As for water resistance, it won't keep contents dry if submerged in a flood (it doesn't claim to do that anyway), but it repels water nicely, just like a little file raincoat!

This organizer is well made and has the fireproof panels on the outer binder covers. The binder has a zippered closure which could burn and possibly still singe the papers inside. The binder also has a flat storage area for cards and smaller documents like ID cards and a passport. In addition there are the clear vinyl sleeves for flat paper documents. The internal compartment could become filled with important larger documents and possibly not zip because there is no provision for expansion.The binder is good for important documents but if you have a lot of these documents to protect, I would recommend a fire protective file box which could hold more than a few pages. The benefit of this binder is the portability and keeping items regularly used fairly safe in one place. Because the edges where the zipper is mounted are not protected, the documents are at some risk for damage from fire or water.This item more fire resistant than fire proof and I would not consider it a replacement for papers and certificates that need to be stored in a fire proof file box, safe or safety deposit box.

We love this! We have a fire safe and this goes inside it - duplicate protection. We keep death and birth certificates, titles, documentation of household items in case we need to provide it to insurance, social security cards, images of drivers license, a list of contact/account info for credit cards, bank accts, etc. Like Mrs. Judy taught me growing up, "If you don't have it in writing, you don't have it."
