Fun item for just playing around with. It sounds like a music box. I checked the tuning with an electric tuner and the notes are correct. Pretty little thing too. Easy to play. Keep in mind there are no sharps# or flat notes, all in the key of "C".

Very cool and definitely worth the price I recommend.the quality is great and it's fun to play.A great option if you want a piano but don't have the space for one!! Sounds amazing on amp as well!

Just used this for a gig. The sound is beautiful, the audio pickup/jack works well, it was pretty much exactly in tune (except for one note slightly off). There are not many things that are too good to be true but this is one of them.

Great beginner's kalimba. My son loved it so much my daughter ordered one for herself. Soothing sound, not annoying to listen to them learning to play like some instruments.

I gave it 3 stars but would give it a 3.5 if I could, it’s not quite four stars but it’s also over a 3.I haven’t used the aux for recording or even seeing if headphones work with it.The kalimba produces a decent sound on the lower notes but the higher you get, there’s a bit of a ringy-tin sound.Another slight problem is the keys move from left to right from where they sit under where they’re held. I assume it’s because there’s not enough tension but they move back fairly easy if you turn them.Another thing that’s concerning and can probably be explained in the manual is that there are holes in the back of the kalimba body, not sure what they’re for as there’s already a hole in the front of the body to help with resonance I assume. I’ll post a video review with it being taped over and open and see if there’s any difference in sound.Haven’t tried tuning it, I’m sure it came tuned out the box but it does come with a tuning hammer, a protective bag, a manual that also has introductory songs to get you started.When I received my kalimba, it wasn’t cracked and it was well packaged inside a box while also being enclosed in bubble wrap with a silica packet to keep it dry.I’m enjoying it so far and have only had it a day but it’s really calming, fun, therapeutic, and interesting.It sounds very beautiful and when it comes to knowing how kalimbas sound, I’m not your guy. I will say though, with the musical experience I have, it’s beautiful sounding, sounds well apart from the small ringing-tin sound on high notes.

only complaint would be tines sometimes move on their own but very rarely, simple piezo mic so it picks up everything which is actually good on this imo!

This Weetotung Treble Kalimba 17 key has an excellent sound to it and resonates perfectly. I don't know if it's the wood or Tines but it's sound matches the Hugh Tracey treble professional Kalimbas, the ones who started mass production of the instrument, that I own. I bought these brands: Eastrock, Donner and Calloway and none of these resonates like the Weetotung and sound cleans like it. There are NO dead tines on the Weetotung even the upper tines. The only other Kalimba I bought that came close to this was the Xinqidian 21 key Kalimba with tines that resonate also. Both Kalimbas have good structure maybe it's the wood they use.The only con is that this Weetotung didn't come with a case hardshell or otherwise. I bought an hardshell case for it. It was worth the investment.
