This is a variation on the standard aftermarket battery chargers that are available. It charged my OEM and the included cells in a good amount of time and worked as expected. It is slimmer than the mains-powered devices as it requires less circuitry which is handy for carrying around in a camera bag. The USB connector is micro-USB which is fine but a bit dated when everything is going to USB-C these days so that may be a consideration for you.The included cells seem to take a charge fine and power the camera for taking pictures. The longevity will only be revealed with time but they are nice to have as a backup and are an afterthought to having the charger in any case. I'd suggest keeping them somewhere around 70% capacity to help extend their lifespan if you're not using them regularly.

These batteries work fine in my 650D, though as others have noted, they do seem a bit snug. There's no indication that anything is forced beyond tolerances to get them in place though, so that doesn't worry me.The charger is really unimpressive. Fitting the battery into the charger is hit-or-miss, and a minor jiggle can change the light from red to green and back again, making it really uncertain if you've got contact, and whether charging is really complete. The listing does mention that it uses micro USB, so I can't really dock it for this, but it's so disappointing to see products still using that obsolete connector. I'm trying really hard to move to all USB-C, so needing to keep a micro USB cable around for this will be a nuisance. That leads to one final point. Do note that while the listing images show a charger with a fold-out plug, the intent is to compare this charger with another, and this charger DOES NOT have a 110v plug. That's my fault for not looking closely, but I was hoping to overcome the micro USB handicap by finally having a charger I could just plug directly into the wall.

When my Canon original battery LP-E8 finally died, I found the Kastar charger and battery pack which seemed like a steal, but I kept my expectations low. The package contains two 7.2V LP-E8 Li-ion batteries, a charger and a short cable with USB Type A and a quadrilateral connectors. You will have to supply the USB charger (re-use from old phones). Both batteries took about an hour or so to charge up. The charger turns from red (charging) to green (full). These fit perfectly in my Canon T2i, and have been performing well so far. I have not taken it till discharge to comment on the charge capacity, but facile comparison shows the original LP-E8 to have 1120 mAh capacity, whereas this has 2100 mAh capacity, and should perform nearly twice as long as the original - IF it lives up to its specs. Recommended!

Nothing bad to say about these batteries, although I did only get them for a camera that I don't use, just needed to see if it worked.

Did an 1 hour + photoshoot with a rebel t3i and still had half a battery life left. Great product, highly recommended for the price.
