I bought the Kaster Charger kit because I misplaced my Canon charger. There are not a lot of selections but Kastar has good rating besides the price. the package was so compact that I thought I received the wrong item but inside the box was was small boxes: one for the charger and another one for the battery. The charger has an extra car adapter to use for the car (this will be irrelevant to me) and a wall charger. I plugged it in to try and see if it works. It did. The light turned red, that's a good sign. I don't know how long it took to charge the battery because 4 hours later, the light is still red. I left it charging the whole night. When I checked this morning, the battery is already fully charged - the light turned green. I will charge my other batteries and see how it goes. I will provide an update later if there is any change to what my expectation is.

I bought this just before Christmas, and shipping was quite fast in spite of the holidays. The battery fits and works just like the original in my Canon T5i, and thus far is powering it flawlessly. The charger, which had no problem charging up my original Canon battery, is so much better in size and configuration than the original Canon charger--this unit is more petite, and the plug is built in (swivels to store or out to use), rather than having to manage a separate cord. Assuming that it continues to function well, it will become the charger I carry in my bag when travelling.*Caveat: I received an email offering me an additional unit for leaving a review. I had planned to wait a bit before reviewing to see if there were any issues with longevity. Other than the timing, however, the email offer has not and will not affect my review. Thus far, it all just works ... but it is early days yet. If the battery or charger do not last well, or any other problem emerges, I will promptly amend this review!

Great value. I really like the protective case for the battery, and the charger works well enough. I only have two gripes with the charger. First, I'd prefer it to be a bit smaller. I'm packing this in my travel pack and the size feels like it could be reduced a bit. Second, the battery, an LP-E8 does not fit into the charger very securely. A good bump while in the charger will dislodge it easily. Overall, I can live with these gripes, but I'll have an eye out for something smaller and more secure.
