Warmed engines also deliver better fuel economy, plus improves oil flow to provide better lubrication to the engine, which reduces wear and increases engine life. The frost plug heater also cuts back on pollution as it aids in vaporization of fuel, thereby cutting back on emissions.

Quality seemed pretty typical for what it is, but it will not seal in a ford FE block. Get the 45 mm unit: p/n 11622.

JUNK, I had installed one of these a few years ago and felt it probably worked for a short time, but soon realized it no longer worked, (used a thermometer to check anti-freeze temp) so I bought the same part # as the old one #11609, Wow did they cheapen this puppy-up, the old style is pictured and not what I received, the new one is really lite weight & thin totally different and did not seal. Anti-freeze leaked out without even being pressurized, so I pulled it out, however the bolt that tightens it stripped when removed as did the small part it threads into, I was able too use parts from the old one (had to cut the length of the old bolt & use the old wing anchor parts) and using silicon to seal the outer circumference. I need this (1971 diesel Ford backhoe) to start in the winter cold to load my sander, but in March I'll be replacing the Kat's with an expansion plug from Napa Auto Parts (# NOE-6004007). I'm about to start her up, hope the silicon takes the pressure.

I bought this item to replace the one that was already installed.
