This part fits fine in my '01 5.9 Cummins 24 Valve diesel. The picture shows just the heater without the cord, so I ordered the cord also but didn't need it because the heater came with a cord.

Direct replacement for the block heater in a 2001 Dodge Cummins 5.9L. Even though Amazon garage says will not fit. This comes with a new cord so don't buy an extra one.3/7/17 UPDATED RATING: TWO STARSWorked great for a little over a month purchased 1/20/17, installed 1/25/17, died 3/4/17. Maybe this was a Chinese copy, definitely not the quality I expect from Kats. Last one I bought lasted five winters. I killed that one with radiator stop leak. They will burn up if you have stop leak in your cooling system.*******UPDATE 5/2/17*******If I could rate zero stars I would. This review is on the second replacement I received after the first lasted two months. This one lasted two months. These have to be low quality copies. First OEM heater lasted 10 years (Mopar) the second, a Kats heater lasted 5. In the last four months I have installed two more "Kats" (not!) and both of them died after two months. The first I pulled out to send in for credit looked brand ne still. I'm afraid this one will look the same. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE BRAND! Go to your local parts store and buy a quality block heater.

I used this to replace the burnt up one in the truck. Used on a 2000 Dodge Ram Cummins. I also ordered the cord. Together they have kept the block warm during these super frigid temps lately.At less than half the cost of OEM and more power, this is definitely worth it.

took about ten minutes to replace while in the middle of nowhere north dakota with minimal tools. And it works like it should.

Well I got it fast and I was glad. IT was pretty cold outside , like -10F. But I was disappointed that it only lasted 3 months or so.But then I notified Amazon. com and WHAM I had a new one to install! THANKS for the GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !I really appreciate it and will purchase with and through AMAZON.COM in the future.
