The birds don't like it. There is nothing wrong with the item. The birds are young and I don't think they know what to do with it. They are laying their eggs on the bottom of the cage.

The perfect bed for your canary or parakeet to snuggle into. I cut and put in an extra piece of felt (the kind you find 8 x 12 sheets of in the craft section) and she (you can tell if you have a she parakeet by the color on the bridge of the nose; pinkish = girl; bluish/purplish = boy) loved it. You can easily clean it with the hose outside. I would not recommend cleaning it in the kitchen sink but a laundry tub maybe okay. Just make sure to allow it to dry in the sun. This takes a few days so it pays to buy two.

I bought this for my parakeet because she kept laying her eggs in one of her food dishes and sleeping on them for a few weeks every night. She didn't like the bedding that comes with it and threw it out of the nest, but proceeded to lay eggs in it after doing so. Low and behold, she hatched 2...

I bought this originally to replace the small hut he uses to sleep on- not in as he won't go inside - he sleeps on top of the hut (you can see part of the wooden hut the lighter cream/brown on the left) and he snuggles close to the cozy corner fleece blanket which I put at that spot for him. I tilted it slightly to give him more space. I thought to get him something comfortable that looked like a nest so I bought this. but he didn't even try it - even if I put the coconut nesting and fleece. it also held a weird shape, as you can see in the photo - it's not as rounded as a nest. I moved it to one of the corners of his cage and just returned to the hut where he sleeps. He loves it as a perch though so that was super good. This might be his second favorite perch as I see him often here, the perfect place for his mineral block where he can clean/condition his beak. One of his favorite areas to hang out - that's for sure. My bird's feet don't get snag on it.UPDATE: I forgot to mention I bought this item back in Nov. 2020 and this photo was taken recently - maybe within this month. You can see, it's sturdy, no loose threads, still intact.

My Green Cheek Conure LOVES these nests. I like them because they give him good footing and as he is injured he doesn’t have to crawl all over the cage to get food etc. the construction of the nest is pretty basic and can be difficult to instal due to the fact that the fasteners (loose screws and wing nuts) are LOOSE! It is tricky, especially with a larger cage to install it.Because the construction is simple and birds like to chew, it can get messy and sag a bit over time. I prefer the hemp rope construction because the rope is digestible and is less likely to get stuck in the birds crop.Overall. I like these little nests for their convenience for my bird.

This is a nice little nest for my 2 parakeets. They never went inside any comfy huts and I wanted them to have something besides their perches. So far I've only seen them relax on the rim but who knows. Maybe they'll figure it out one day haha
