I have a Hurricane 10'6" kayak. I can thread the blue strap through the front skupper hole. Thus by using both straps, the kayak stays firmly in the "saddle" between the wheels. I pick up the back handle and my kayak turns into a long, thin, wheelbarrow that moves around easily. I store it in my garage with the wheels on it. It is ready to wheel out of the garage and put on my car roof (after I take off the wheels) at the beginning of my next paddling adventure.

The middle does not fit my kayak well I was hoping for it to be more Moldable to the frame.

I have owned this cart for almost a year and use it regularly, 2-3 times a month. Initially it takes a bit of time to get the straps adjusted for the your specific kayak. It has quick-release clips so you only need to adjust the straps on first use. Once straps are adjusted, it only takes 1-2 minutes to install and secure. Once kayak is at launch site, remove cart, pull the wheel clips, remove the wheels, spacers and axle and the dismantled cart fits in the rear cargo hold in my touring kayak. When I am ready to get out of the water, reassembly and attach cart and I'm ready to transport to parking lot.I like this cart because of the molded saddle. The kayak hull rides in the saddle and is secured to the kayak with straps. The saddle (cart) stays in place once secured. Another feature that will make a big difference if you have to transport your kayak through mud, sand or uneven terrain is the 11" X 3" wheels. They can roll through almost anything and the tires have a smooth surface, no tread, meaning they don't get packed with mud. In addition to the wheel size, the cart has a wide stance meaning the wheel about 20" apart adding to stability when pulling kayak over uneven terrain.At large kayak gatherings I have seen many different kayak cart designs from cheap imports from Asia to custom made kayak specific carts. If you are only transporting on smooth, hard surfaces the cheaper carts may work fine. But almost every launch and takeout I have experienced is less than ideal. Often I have to pull my kayak up a 30+ degree grades on a levee to exit or portage a river. These levees often have erosion ruts and rocks. Works just fine with my rowing shell. Cart must be placed on the bow and you need an extra bungee to get to attach to the foot stretcher area, but I really like it for moving my open water single around on my own.
