What’s the ballasts?
- A ballast is a crucial part of a fluorescent or HID lighting system. Also does it provides enough voltage and current throughout operation and regulates the electrical current of the light once it is lit. Without a ballast, the bulb will consume too much power, causing it to burn out quickly-sometimes within a few minutes. The ballast can prevent this from happening and ensure that you benefit from the entire life of the bulb. Every ballast is designed to connect directly to your vehicle and requires NO programming or coding.
- The most common cause of HID Ballas failure is long term use, which can resulting in flickering, dipped beam not working or light failed. When have problems, you'd better replace it so that you can enjoy the real strengths of HID bulbs.
- The ballast is to help your lamp start up quickly. When the lamp is turned on, the ballast provides a surge of higher voltage to the lamp. This helps establish an arc between two electrodes on the lamp. After the electrode arc is established, the ballast reduces the voltage and regulates the electric current. This ensures the light produced is even and steady, without flickering or fading.

The headlight went out on my lexus and the dealer wanted 400 to replace it, When i saw this for 35 on amazon i thought it was to good to be true. Great product

A ballast at the Lexus Dealership was 680 dollars—I ordered this one for less than 50 dollars and it works exceptionally well. I have only had it for a week but it does have a lifetime warranty unlike the 680 dollar one which only has a 1 year warranty. I am very pleased with how much I saved and will be ordering another one just in case I need a replacement for the other side.

Purchased 3 weeks ago as of this review. Replaced one ballast in a 2003 Toyota Celica GTS, everything fit perfectly out of the box and as far as I'm aware the light output and warm up time matches the other OEM ballast.

Works well with my 2005 Prius. Had to disassemble the plug to thread the wire through the headlight. Not difficult with needle nosed pliers and a slotted screwdriver. Sounds a lot more difficult than it is. Huge savings over going through the dealer. Found many tutorials on YouTube for the installation.

Form, Fit and Function are the three elements of replacement parts.Form was probably okay, and Function never got tested.Fit was the problem The mounting tabs on the Toyota ballast 85967-33010 have a 90mm on center spacing. The YunStal had a 94mm spacing. The corner tab support is too small for the pin it's supposed to fit, maybe 1mm shy.Anyway, returned for refund. Used the ballast from the old DS, which was also replaced, for the right side.Update 14Feb19: New pictures of orig failed unit to compare to Tony's pic below of YunStal unit guts.
