These are heavy gauge plate for the bases and full 1/4" rod for the hoops. They hold really well when using ratchet straps, even when you cinch them up as tight as you can. Held a 5 foot high pile of Styrofoam insulation down on a 6 and a half hour drive at speeds of over 120 kph.

These plated tie-downs seem to be well made although I'd have preferred they were SS. The loop is welded where it joins under the strap, an unexpected quality detail. I was pleased it is made in Taiwan, not mainland China. The description should always state country of manufacture.One detail that was over looked is that the loop will rattle around as it isn't tight under the strap. A simple fix is to wrap electrical tape 5 times around so that the strap keeps pressure on the loop.

Used these for an odd application. They are under my wood computer desk holding up my computers with ratchet tie downs. Affordable, strong, and have a conical hole so your screws will be flush mount. Simple product and great for a variety of simple or strange DIY projects.
